Plastic Surgery for the 2009 Best Actress Oscar Nominees
As Oscar Sunday draws closer, Make Me Heal is continuing its coverage of the Best Actresses that have and haven’t had plastic surgery.
26-year old Anne Hathaway has been nominated as Best Actress for her role in Rachel Getting married and our panel of plastic surgery experts found that not only has Anne not had plastic surgery in the past, she doesn’t really need it in the future. Anne’s full lips are not the result of a lip augmentation and even though her nose is a little imperfect, it doesn’t need correcting. She may consider a Botox eyelid lift in the future however. See Make Me Heal’s story on Anne Hathaway’s plastic surgery.
Although 33-year old Angelina Jolie has notoriously undergone plastic surgery early in her acting career, it seems the mother of six is as good-looking as ever and doesn’t need more to accept her nomination for her role in The Changeling.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Paul S. Nassif tells Make Me Heal, “Angelina Jolie is stunning and has Grace Kelly-like features. There is nothing I would recommend procedure wise. But, in order to add some sparkle her face before the awards, she might consider a little microdermabrasion.”
Plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden agrees that Angelina looks great and doesn’t need further surgery, “Besides a rhinoplasty early in her career and a very good skin care regimen, I think Angelina is simply the recipient of great genes.” See Make Me Heal’s story on Angelina Jolie’s plastic surgery.
48-year old Melissa Leo has been nominated for her work in Frozen River, without the benefit of plastic surgery. The doctors we consulted felt that Melissa would benefit dramatically from having facial plastic surgery, including a facelift, eyelift as well as some Botox and fillers. See Make Me Heal’s story on Melissa Leo’s plastic surgery.
59-year old actress Meryl Streep has earned her 13th Oscar nomination for her role in Doubt. In the past, Meryl has had plastic surgery, but it looks as though she’s gone natural for a while, although there are some quick fixes for her before the Oscars.
Dr. Nassif tells Make Me Heal, “It looks as if Meryl Streep did have a facelift and maybe a brow lift in the past. Now, she has some wrinkles. For the Oscars, she can do a number of quick fixes. Botox around her eye region, glabella and forehead will help address the wrinkles. She also might think about having a Radiesse liquid lift to her cheekbones, and use a filler such as Restylane to add to her lips.” See Make Me Heal’s story on Meryl Streep’s plastic surgery.
34-year old Kate Winslet has earned an Oscar nomination for her work in The Reader and the debate rages on as to whether or not the British beauty has gone under the knife to enhance her looks. Some feel that the actress may have had some face work done on her nose and eyes, while others feel her weight loss is responsible for the positive change in her appearance. See Make Me Heal’s story on Kate Winslet’s plastic surgery.
Make Me Heal wishes all the Best Actress nominees good luck at the upcoming awards.

This is stupid and childish. Don’t you guys have anything better to do with your time? You either criticize someone for getting plastic surgery or someone who hasn’t got plastic surgery yet. You need to face the fact that not every one can look like a skinny rail. I actually think people who are a size six are better looking that girls who are a size zero. Size zero isn’t attractive. Also, why do you have to criticize people and convince them they have to get plastic surgery. From what I have seen, people who get plastic surgery look WORSE than they did before they got it. Be you! Don’t be a fake hollywood robot. Take a prozac or a paxil! Something! Obsessing over plastic surgery and fashion is not NORMAL. GET A LIFE. Please. Do us all a favor. I’m sick of seeing this plastic surgery crap on the web and seeing crap like Nutrisystem on my television set. Who are trying to impress? Why should we even try to impress people like you? Screw Hollywood. I rather have a regular life and be myself than be famous and look like a fake barbie doll.

Whether she’s had cosmetic surgery or not, I think Meryl just has fantastic genes. Her skin has always been gorgeous. As for Angelina, I’m not a fan, and for crying out loud, she’s only thirty-three. We’ll see if she has “great genes” in fifteen or twenty years. My bet is she isn’t going to be looking so good. Not with Jon Voight as a dad. He did not age well.
