Nicole Kidman Supports Husband with More Plastic Surgery

Posted on November 17th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery, Oscars Plastic Surgery, Award Shows by Lisa Stanfield

Last week at the CMA’s, not only country stars were displaying their plastic surgery, but fans as well. Make Me Heal thinks that no fan showed her support more than Nicole Kidman.

At 42, Nicole Kidman has already shut down years of rumors of plastic surgery, saying her flawless complexion is due to healthy living. But after her somewhat bizarre-looking appearance at the recent Country Music Awards, Nicole should be ready for new waves of plastic surgery rumors, thanks to her pushed up breasts and oversized lips.

Nicole Kidman, Plastic Surgery

While Nicole Kidman has been a notorious Botox user for years, using it to maintain her wrinkle-free, porcelain doll-like visage, it seems she has recently begun using a dermal injectable filler in her lips (See Make Me Heal’s story on Nicole Kidman’s Botox). While accompanying her husband, country star Keith Urban, Nicole’s lips stole the show as they appeared to be much fuller than usual, likely the result of a recent dose of lip filler like Restylane.

Below the neck, Nicole showed off her perfectly porcelain skin, as well as a heathy amount of cleavage. While not overly busty, Nicole’s breasts almost have the stuck on appearance of a breast augmentation gone wrong. Breast implants can develop capsular contracture, which can make them seem too far apart and stuck on. (See Make Me Heal’s story on Nicole Kidman’s Breast Augmentation).

Whether or not she admits it, Nicole Kidman has certainly benefited from plastic surgery, as the Aussie actress can be seen in a string of films, beginning with the musical Nine, due out next month.

2009 Country Music Awards Showcase Plastic Surgery

Posted on November 13th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery, Oscars Plastic Surgery, Award Shows by Carrie Zender

Each year Make Me Heal looks forward to the Country Music Awards, where country singers and musicians of the past and present strut their plastic surgery down the red carpet, covered in larger than life glitz and glitter.

American Idol star Carrie Underwood, a nominee for Female Vocalist, co-hosted the Country Music Awards with country star Brad Paisley, who was nominated in six categories. Neither country star showed symptoms of plastic surgery, but they could still be in the cards as the stars begin to age in the spotlight. (See Make Me Heal’s story on Carrie Underwood’s plastic surgery).

Carrie Underwood, Plastic Surgery

Always a beauty, Faith Hill looked stunning and much younger than her 42 years in an elegant gray dress on the red carpet. Faith has previously said no to plastic surgery, but she may be filling in with some non-invasive procedures, like Botox injections and lip augmentation.

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr Jennifer Walden says, “I don’t believe Ms. Hill has ever had any plastic surgery, but it appears that she may keep aging at bay with the help of injectables.  Her forehead looks slightly “frozen”, which may have been the result of Botox.  In addition, her lips have the plump appearance that may come from fillers.”

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., says, “Faith Hill looks great. I do not believe she has had a facelift, but injectables are very likely due to the appearance of her smooth skin showing minimal lines. Overall she looks great, and I would not change a thing.”

Faith hill, Plastic Surgery

Faith and her husband, country favorite, Tim McGraw presented the big winner of the night, Taylor Swift with the much-coveted Entertainer of the Year award. Taylor is the youngest winner at the tender age of 19 and hasn’t been under the knife yet, but who knows what the future holds for the singer, it may even include a nose job (See Make Me Heal’s story on Taylor Swift’s plastic surgery).

Taylor Swift, Plastic Surgery

While many applauded Taylor’s sweep at the awards show, half of The Judds were less than congratulatory. Wynonna told USA Today, “You want my honest comment? It’s too much too soon. Time is God’s way of keeping everything from happening at once. It’s just too much of a good thing too soon. My thing is, being a home-school mom, I want kids to earn it, and I think some time … ‘cause mom and I rode in a car for the first year of our career to visit radio stations. There was a making of the star, there was a rising up, and the fans went with us. Now it’s over coffee breaks, the success, almost. You have to play catch up … It’s like the girl who wins an Oscar and she’s under 20. What do you do from here?”

Wynonna and her mother Naomi are clearly fans of plastic surgery. Between the two of them, they look to have more than one facelift, breast lifts and augmentations and more. They seem to be following the Dolly Parton Guide to Beauty (See Make Me Heal’s story on Dolly Parton’s plastic surgery).

Dr Walden says, “In addition to their success in the music industry, Wynonna and Naomi also both seem to appear younger as the years pass.  It is rumored that both women have been under the knife for facelifts, browlifts, and eyelid lifts.  In addition to the possible surgical procedures the two have had, they both seem to have had Botox and fillers added to their lips.”

Dr Nassif says, “Wynonna and Naomi Judd have likely had some work done.  It is clear Wynonna has had rhinoplasty at some point in her life, as her bridge is very narrow and her nose has a look where it is a bit too perfect. She appears to have had a facelift as well.  Naomi looks like she has had a browlift, and potentially a facelift along with rhinoplasty as her tip is very narrow and turned up. And injectables are likely in the running for them both.”

Wyonna and Naomi, Plastic Surgery

Reba McEntire looked great at the awards. Sporting a customized shimmering black gown, the Female Vocalist looked amazing for a 54 year old. Reba likely gets her glow from avoiding the sun and using plastic surgery wisely, having a facelift and injectables over time to keep from looking to plastic.

Dr Walden says, “Country’s funny lady Reba McEntire is no stranger to plastic surgery.  Throughout the years there have been reports of facelifts, as well as a possible breast augmentation.  It appears that she may use dermal fillers to combat deep set lines.”

Dr Nassif says, “Reba McEntire appears to have had a facelift, which is evident when she smiles. Additional fillers around her face are a good possibility as well, along with some Botox in the forehead as her skin appears very smooth.  Rhinoplasty is a possibility due to her narrow bridge. Overall she still looks good and does not appear overdone.”

Reba Mcentire, Plastic Surgery

Another nominee for Female Vocalist was Martina McBride. At 43, Martina is barely starting to show signs of aging, with just a few wrinkles on her neck and some minor crow’s feet. The sexy singer likely uses fillers like Juvederm to keep major signs of aging at bay.

Dr Nassif says, “Martina McBride has likely had some fillers around her face, and Botox in her forehead as her skin appears very smooth. I do not see evidence of a facelift or any major work done. She is naturally pretty, and has a very elegant look on her own.”

Martina Mcbride, Plastic Surgery

At 43, Lee Ann Womack appears to be one of many female country stars to have undergone a breast augmentation in the past. In addition, she may use injectables like Botox to keep her skin smooth for all the make-up that comes with being a country star.

Dr Nassif says, “Lee-ann Womack looks very natural. If anything, she may have had some fillers around her face, but I do not see any evidence of a facelift or a rhinoplasty.  Her look is great, and to maintain her natural appearance she would not benefit from any work at this time.”

Lee Ann Womack, Plastic Surgery

The CMA’s were dotted with Make Me Heal alum, including a newly redheaded Kellie Pickler, who kept her breast augmentation nearly under wrap (See Make Me Heal’s story on Kellie Pickler’s plastic surgery).

Miss Plastic Celebrates Beauty of Plastic Surgery

Posted on October 16th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery, Oscars Plastic Surgery, Award Shows by Sam Stets

In most beauty pageants, plastic surgery is looked down on or at the very least kept quiet. So Make Me Heal was interested to learn of the Miss Plastic Hungary pageant in Europe, which celebrates women with plastic surgery.

Rika Urban, Plastic Surgery

To qualify for Miss Plastic Hungary, each contestant had to be over the age of 18 and prove that they’ve had at least one plastic surgery operation, but injections like Botox and collagen were not counted. Almost every contestant had breast implants, and nose jobs were the second most popular surgery among contestants. Women over 30 had their own special category.

22-year-old Rika Urban was the winner of the pageant, getting an apartment. The first runner up was Edina Kulcsar who won a new car, and third place went to Alexandra Horvath, who won diamond jewelry said to be worth $10,800.

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden says, “This contest is very similar to the U.S. reality TV show “The Swan”.  The winner was a very beautiful girl who obviously benefited from plastic surgery.”

In addition the doctor who performed the surgeries also received some sort of award as well.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Tamas Rozsos said that plastic surgery has a “bad reputation” in Hungary, and the pageant is intended to show women there’s no shame in “restoring harmony” to their looks. The contest was arranged to help cosmetic surgeons promote their industry.

It seems that Miss Plastic was a huge success, as it is being talked about the world over, favorably or not. Make Me Heal thinks its great to see plastic surgery being openly discussed without shame and beauty contestants competing on an even keel, without any of the “did she or didn’t she” that often accompanies the lavish pageant events.

Is There Plastic Surgery In Toni Collette’s Future?

Posted on October 7th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery, Oscars Plastic Surgery, Award Shows by Ruby Marr

Toni Collette has been an Indie actress favorite since she starred in the offbeat film Muriel’s Wedding. Now that she has won a 2009 Primetime Emmy Award for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for the kooky premium station film United States of Tara, she may have finally entered the mainstream conscious, which means plastic surgery is likely on the way.

Toni Collete, Plastic Surgery

36-year old Toni Collette is one of the most diverse actresses working today, portraying a wide range of characters, both attractive and not. Many of these characters appear on the United States of Tara, as Toni portrays a housewife living with dissociative identity disorder. (See Make Me Heal’s story on Plastic Surgery at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards).

It does not seem likely that with all her character changes, Toni has had any plastic surgery to alter her looks, instead relying on costume, make-up and her tremendous acting skills to portray different characters.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J Aston says, “I do not think Toni Collette has had any Plastic Surgery procedures and has been successful without it.”

On the other hand, her Emmy appearance revealed a smooth forehead and low brows, which are both indicators of Botox injections. Toni may have gotten the injections as preparation for her appearance and may not have them regularly while she is working.

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., said, “Toni Collette looks natural and great, and I would not change a thing. If anything, she may have had a bit of Botox as the appearance of any lines is minimal, but that could be her natural look as well.”

If Toni does decide to “go Hollywood,” she may have some more facial injections in her future to help enhance her youthful looks.

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Toni Collette looks good. She does have a Botox look with low eyebrows (especially laterally) and long forehead. If she were looking for any procedures to have, upper lip injection with Juvederm Ultra or other dermal filler may help her thin upper lip.”

Make Me Heal has been a fan of the talented Aussie actress and looks forward to seeing what she does next.

Plastic Surgery at the 2009 Oscars

Posted on February 23rd, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery, Oscars Plastic Surgery, Award Shows by Dana Jackson

Every year, Make Me Heal looks forward to the Academy Awards because at no other time does so much plastic surgery appear in one place at one time.

Hosted by Hugh Jackman, the ceremonies kicked off with the Tony-award winner performing a clever song and dance routine that was entirely free of plastic surgery, but that doesn’t mean some nips and tucks in the future wouldn’t help the Sexiest Man Alive be even sexier.

Huge Jackman, Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrel J. Aston says, “Hugh Jackman is 40 years old and looks great. He is People magazine’s choice as The Sexiest Man Alive and he earned this distinction all on his own.”

“His upper eyelids are a little heavy, he has prominent nasolabial folds and his nose is a little long. All these could be changed but he has no reason to do it at this point. In the future he may want to consider having these areas corrected in a very subtle way.”

Sean Penn won the Oscar for Best Actor in the biopic Milk. Although his large nose has never seen a plastic surgeon’s blade, many of the nominees in his category were more than familiar with the inside of a plastic surgeon’s office, including Brad Pitt, who recently underwent laser treatments to refresh his appearance. Dr. Jennifer Walden, said “ it appears to me that Brad may have had some sort of facial resurfacing procedure like a chemical peel or laser with minimal downtime given that his skin looks smoother and more evenly textured, and possibly even soft tissue fillers.” See Make Make Me Heal’s story on Brad Pitt’s plastic surgery. See Make Me Heal’s story on the Best Actor nominees.

Sean Penn, Cosmetic Surgery

The Oscar for Best Supporting Actor was posthumously awarded to Heath Ledger for his role in The Dark Knight. Most of the actors nominated in this category hadn’t had any plastic surgery, but could universally benefit from some careful eyework, including Josh Brolin, Robert Downey Jr. and Philip Seymour Hoffman. See Make Me Heal’s story on the Best Supporting Actor nominees.

Heath Ledger, Plastic Surgery

Kate Winslet was the Oscar winner for Best Actress in The Reader. Whether or not the British beauty has been under the knife seems to be a matter of opinion. See Make Me Heal’s story on Kate Winslet’s plastic surgery. Other actresses in her category, including Anglelina Jolie, have definitely had plastic surgery to improve their looks. Angelina notoriously had a nose job early in her career, See Make Me Heal’s story on Angelina Jolie’s plastic surgery. Other actresses in the category, like Melissa Leo (See Make Me Heal’s story on Melissa Leo’s plastic surgery) and Anne Hathaway (See Make Me Heal’s story on Anne Hathaway’s plastic surgery) don’t appear to have had cosmetic surgery. See Make Me Heal’s story on the Best Actress nominees.

Kate Winslet, Plastic Surgery

Penelope Cruz won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. The Spanish beauty has previously undergone some minor plastic surgery improvements, including lip injections, while more invasive plastic surgery procedures, including a nose job remain hard to determine. Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., said, “Some photos that show the front of Ms. Cruz’s nose are consistent with having had a rhinoplasty. Her tip cartilage looks like it might have a parenthesis look from the way the cartilage was excised.” See Make Me Heal’s story on Penelope Cruz’ plastic surgery. Penelope’s fellow nominees in the category, including Amy Adams, Taraji P. Henson, Viola Davis and Marissa Tomei also had minimal procedures, see Make Me Heal’s story on the Best Supporting Actress nominees.

Penelope Cruz, Cosmetic Surgery

Best Picture went to Slumdog Millionaire, the small film that got really big. The stars are not well-known in the United States and some of the smaller roles were filled by locals living in the film’s location of Mumbai. As the careers of the star grows, so may their interest in plastic surgery and Make Me Heal intends to be the first to report on any changes in the stars’ appearances.

Slumdog Millionaire, Best Picture

Although they weren’t nominated for their work, Make Me Heal spotted several plastic surgeries walking the red carpet.

Jennifer Grey and her notoriously bad nose job appeared in a curve-hugging Dolce & Gabbana gown. Since the nose job that rendered her nearly unrecognizable, the 48-year old Dirty Dancing actress seems to have been under the knife a few more times to tighten up with a facelift and facial fillers to keep her looking preternaturally young.

Jennifer Grey, Plastic Surgery

Another plastic surgery fan was Jessica Biel, who appeared in Prada. The 26-year old seems to have had a nose job and lip injections to keep her looking hot to trot down red carpets everywhere. See Make Me Heal’s story on Jessica Biel’s plastic surgery.

Jessica Biel, Plastic Surgery

Although they didn’t win, power couple doubly nominated Brangelina appeared looking better than ever. Brad took care of the ugly mustache issue by adding more facial hair to his Juvederm-ed face, while Angelina accented her possible cheek implants and nose job with colorful dangling earrings. See Make Heal’s story on Brad Pitt’s plastic surgery and Make Me Heal’s story on Angelina Jolie’s plastic surgery.

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Cosmetic Surgery

Another favorite couple, especially among the tween set, that made an appearance on the red carpet and even presented awards, was Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron. The High School Musical stars, 20 and 21, respectively, have both been rumored to have plastic surgery: a nose job for him and a breast augmentation for her. See Make Me Heal’s story on Vanessa Hudgen’s breast augmentation and Make Me Heal’s story on Zac Efron’s nose job.

Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Plastic Surgery

The Oscars were an elegant display of fashion and plastic surgery at their best and worst and Make Me Heal congratulates all the winners on a job well done.

Plastic Surgery for the 2009 Best Actor Oscar Nominees

The Best Actor Nominees for the 2009 Oscar ceremonies cross a wide range of the plastic surgery spectrum. From those that use plastic surgery judiciously to look better, like Brad Pitt, to those that overdone, like Mickey Rourke, Make Me Heal takes a look at all the Best Actor nominees and their procedures.

Richard Jenkins has been nominated for his first Oscar at age 61 for his work in The Visitor. Although the tall man has never been known for his stunning good looks, they could still be improved, even though Richard is new to plastic surgery. Aging has left Richard with baggy eyelids and extreme hair loss, both of which could be corrected with plastic surgery.

Richard Jenkins, Plastic Surgery

Facial plastic surgery expert, Dr. Paul S. Nassif tells Make Me Heal, “Richard Jenkins could use some Botox, but he definitely needs his eyes done. He probably can’t see out on the outside aspects of his eyes, due to his heavy eyelids.  The heavy lids are causing what is called “hooding out” near the corners. The skin is folding over his upper eyelid, almost blocking vision.”

In addition to some eyelid plastic surgery, Richard could also conquer his hair loss by undergoing hair restoration. Hair loss expert Dr. Alan Buman says, “Richard Jenkins is a ‘Norwood Class 7′ (7 out of 7), an extensive pattern of hair loss.   Any degree of restoration of his own living and growing hair would have to proceed with careful planning in order to achieve a satisfactory result. Unlike old-style ‘plugs,’ we used a process that involves the transplantation of single follicle grafts for the frontal hairline and groups of two or three hair follicles to create density farther back.   Adding a randomized, natural design to the hairline gives a 100% undetectable look.” (See Make Me Heal’s story on Richard Jenkins’ plastic surgery).

71-year old Frank Langella, nominated for his work in Frost/Nixon, could also benefit from hair restoration.

Frank Langella, Plastic Surgery

According to Dr. Bauman, “Frank Langella is a ‘Norwood Class 5′ (out of 7), so he’s also already experienced severe hair loss over the course of his life.   If enough donor hair is available in the back of the scalp, this could be transplanted into the thinning and balding areas to eventually give coverage and restore the look that was only previously possible with a thick hairpiece that he used in Frost/Nixon.   It is important to understand that transplanted hair densities do not have to be equal to the original density in order to give coverage to the scalp.”

In addition, Frank could tighten up his appearance with some plastic surgery. Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J. Aston says, “Frank Langella has not had any plastic surgery. He is a good candidate for a facelift and upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty. His neck is quite loose and he has significant jowling.  His upper and lower lids are very heavy and full. He is at the stage where a properly done procedure would not look like surgery but surely maintain the roles he can play in the future.”

Dr. Nassif agrees that while Frank has never previously had plastic surgery, he could benefit from some, “Frank Langella is aging nicely, it looks good on him, like a Sean Connery-type. Maybe an upper eyelid lift and lower blepharoplasty to remove the little fat bags could help him look better.” (See Make Me Heal’s story on Frank Langella’s plastic surgery).

48-year old Sean Penn is up for his fifth Academy Award for his role in Milk and it will be his second Oscar if he wins. Although Sean has never been under the knife before, it could help restore him to his “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” Spicoli days. His large nose makes him an obvious candidate for a rhinoplasty, but he more imminently needs anti-aging treatments, like Botox.

Sean Penn, Plastic Surgery

Dr. Nassif says, “Sean Penn definitely hasn’t had any work done in the past, especially not a nose job, because it is still very large. Penn could benefit from a browlift and upper blepharoplasty. Botox to forehead and around the eyes (crow’s feet and glabella (between the eyes), would also help.”

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden says, “Sean Penn hasn’t had anything done, but he would look nice with a well-done rhinoplasty. That being said, a surgeon would have to be nuts to operate on him because it would likely change his trademark look so much that we would miss the old Sean Penn that has been on the screen for so long.”

45-year old Brad Pitt has received his second Oscar nomination for his role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Brad has been a sex symbol since his breakthrough role in Thelma & Louise and so, while he doesn’t need any major surgery, he could use some anti-aging treatments to keep him looking good.

Brad Pitt, Plastic Surgery

Dr. Nassif says, “Like his co-nominees, Pitt could have his eyes done. He also has acne scarring from what I recall, which could be helped with some Fraxel or IPL.”

Also noting his good looks, Dr. Walden tells Make Me Heal, “Brad Pitt is a very handsome man who may have undergone a skin-resurfacing procedure or fillers, but I think he doesn’t even needs to do those things to age gracefully. Pitt is the caliber of Robert Redford or Paul Newman when it comes to natural good looks and acting talent, and neither of those men ever need(ed) a thing done!”

Weighing in on the father of six, plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn says, “The one plastic surgery that a man as good looking as Brad Pitt can consider is facial fat grafting.  As he has aged, his face has become more gaunt as the fat has disappeared.  This is most evident in his cheeks and under his eyes.  Injecting some fat into these areas can give his face a softer appearance and bring him back to looking more like his ‘A River Runs Through It’ days.  Oh, and he can shave that heinous 70s mustache too…” (See Make Me Heal’s story on Brad Pitt’s plastic surgery).

Unlike his co-nominees, 52-year old Mickey Rourke has had more than enough plastic surgery for all of the Best Actors. Nominated for his role in The Wrestler, Mickey has gone under the knife several times, to the count of at least one facelift, possible chin, cheek and lower lip implants and possible multiple nose jobs. All plastic surgeons and Make Me Heal agree, the best thing Mickey can do now is to stay away from plastic surgery to ensure his bizarre appearance doesn’t get any worse. (See Make Me Heal’s story on Mickey Rourke’s plastic surgery).

Mickey Rourke, Plastic Surgery

Make Me Heal is pleased to see some of these veteran actors finally getting recognized for their work and looks forward to seeing how all the men clean up for the red carpet.

Male Oscar Nominees with Hair Loss

Posted on February 17th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery, Male Plastic Surgery, Oscars Plastic Surgery, Award Shows by Carrie Zender

Every year at the Oscars, Make Me Heal sees actors with varying stages of hair loss and their various attempts at covering it up. This year, Make Me Heal decided to consult a hair loss expert so that by next year, these outstanding actors can hit the red carpet with hair. (See Make Me Heal’s previous story on Hair Loss at the Oscars).

61-year old Richard Jenkins has been nominated for Best Actor for his performance in The Visitor. As many fans of his work will recall, Richard’s hair loss is very significant and it would require a lot of work to restore it.

Richard Jenkins, Plastic Surgery

According to hair restoration surgeon Dr. Alan Bauman, “Richard Jenkins is a ‘Norwood Class 7′ (7 out of 7), an extensive pattern of hair loss. Adding a randomized, natural design to the hairline gives a 100% undetectable look.”

71-year old Frank Langella has also been nominated for his first Oscar, in the Best Actor category for his work in the historic drama Frost/Nixon. Although his hair loss is a different pattern than his peer, Richard’s, Frank’s is still fairly severe.

Frank Langela, Hair Transplant

According to Dr. Bauman, “Frank Langella is a ‘Norwood Class 5′ (out of 7), so he’s also already experienced severe hair loss over the course of his life.   If enough donor hair is available in the back of the scalp, this could be transplanted into the thinning and balding areas to eventually give coverage and restore the look that was only previously possible with a thick hairpiece that he used in Frost/Nixon. It is important to understand that transplanted hair densities do not have to be equal to the original density in order to give coverage to the scalp.”

“Transplantation restores hair follicles permanently into the thinning or balding areas, and medication like Propecia or Minoxidil or even low level laser therapy can be used to maintain and enhance the existing hair.”

Although the youngest actor, 41-year old Philip Seymour Hoffman has been nominated for his third Oscar, as Best Supporting Actor for his role in Doubt. The Oscar winner has a very high, receded hairline, which although his signature look, could be corrected with plastic surgery.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Hair Transplant

Dr. Bauman tells Make Me Heal, “Philip Seymour Hoffman’s high, receded hairline and swoopingly-long forelock seem to be his signature look.  However, if he chose to have a lower hairline, this could be accomplished undetectably using modern hair transplantation techniques, called follicular-unit micrografting, which transplant one, two or three hair follicles at a time. The good news is that the long, swooping hair would cover most of the healing process which, when accelerated with hyperbaric oxygen treatments and phototherapy, now takes only a week.  Here’s an example of a hairline restoration using follicular-unit micrografting transplantation.”

All of the nominees gave excellent performances and could only be improved with a little more hair. Make Me Heal looks forward to seeing the winner on Oscar Sunday.

Plastic Surgery for the 2009 Best Supporting Actress Oscar Nominees

As the Oscars draw ever closer, Make Me Heal has decided to take a look at all the nominees for Best Supporting Actress and their plastic surgery profiles.

34-year old Amy Adams has been nominated for her role in Doubt, making it her second Oscar nomination. The multi-talented actress, who also sings is unusual because she seems to have reached fame without any major plastic surgery. At most, the fresh-faced redhead has used Botox to keep her brow smooth and wrinkle-free. See Make Me Heal’s story on Amy Adam’s plastic surgery.

Penelope Cruz is also 34-year and nominated for her second Oscar for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Unlike her competitor, it seems that Penelope has spent some time in the plastic surgeon’s office. The Spanish beauty may have undergone a rhinoplasty in the past, leaving her with an unusually shaped nasal tip. She may have also dabbled in lip injections in the past. Although Penelope has never admitted to going under the knife, she has never spoken out against plastic surgery, either. See Make Me Heal’s story on Penelope Cruz’s plastic surgery.

43-year old Viola Davis has been nominated for her first Academy Award for her role in Doubt. Like her co-star Amy Adams, it seems that Viola has probably not had very much plastic surgery, although some photos have revealed a possible ethnic rhinoplasty. Viola also used to have a very gummy-looking smile, which may have been corrected by using Botox injections. See Make Me Heal’s story on Viola Davis’ plastic surgery.

38-year old Taraji P. Henson is the other woman of color nominated for an Oscar in a major category, for her role in the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Taraji is another example of stunning natural beauty that has been unaided by plastic surgery, although some dermatological treatments, like microdermabrasion, could help her shine even more at the upcoming event. See Make Me Heal’s story on Taraji P. Henson’s plastic surgery.

44-year old Marisa Tomei has been nominated for her third Oscar for her work in The Wrestler. Although older than her co-nominees, Marisa appears to be plastic surgery free and still look just as good, if not better than her younger peers. Plastic surgeons seem to agree that some eye work would be beneficial for Marisa, but that the most the actress seems to have done is a little Botox in the forehead region. See Make Me Heal’s story on Marisa Tomei’s plastic surgery.

Make Me Heal enjoyed all the nominees’ performances and wishes them the best of luck at the Academy Awards.

Plastic Surgery for the 2009 Best Actress Oscar Nominees

Posted on February 12th, 2009 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery, Oscars Plastic Surgery, Award Shows by Lisa Stanfield

As Oscar Sunday draws closer, Make Me Heal is continuing its coverage of the Best Actresses that have and haven’t had plastic surgery.

26-year old Anne Hathaway has been nominated as Best Actress for her role in Rachel Getting married and our panel of plastic surgery experts found that not only has Anne not had plastic surgery in the past, she doesn’t really need it in the future. Anne’s full lips are not the result of a lip augmentation and even though her nose is a little imperfect, it doesn’t need correcting. She may consider a Botox eyelid lift in the future however. See Make Me Heal’s story on Anne Hathaway’s plastic surgery.

Although 33-year old Angelina Jolie has notoriously undergone plastic surgery early in her acting career, it seems the mother of six is as good-looking as ever and doesn’t need more to accept her nomination for her role in The Changeling.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Paul S. Nassif tells Make Me Heal, “Angelina Jolie is stunning and has Grace Kelly-like features.  There is nothing I would recommend procedure wise.   But, in order to add some sparkle her face before the awards, she might consider a little microdermabrasion.”

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden agrees that Angelina looks great and doesn’t need further surgery, “Besides a rhinoplasty early in her career and a very good skin care regimen, I think Angelina is simply the recipient of great genes.” See Make Me Heal’s story on Angelina Jolie’s plastic surgery.

48-year old Melissa Leo has been nominated for her work in Frozen River, without the benefit of plastic surgery. The doctors we consulted felt that Melissa would benefit dramatically from having facial plastic surgery, including a facelift, eyelift as well as some Botox and fillers. See Make Me Heal’s story on Melissa Leo’s plastic surgery.

59-year old actress Meryl Streep has earned her 13th Oscar nomination for her role in Doubt. In the past, Meryl has had plastic surgery, but it looks as though she’s gone natural for a while, although there are some quick fixes for her before the Oscars.

Dr. Nassif tells Make Me Heal, “It looks as if Meryl Streep did have a facelift and maybe a brow lift in the past. Now, she has some wrinkles. For the Oscars, she can do a number of quick fixes.  Botox around her eye region, glabella and forehead will help address the wrinkles. She also might think about having a Radiesse liquid lift to her cheekbones, and use a filler such as Restylane to add to her lips.” See Make Me Heal’s story on Meryl Streep’s plastic surgery.

Meryl Streep, Plastic Surgery

34-year old Kate Winslet has earned an Oscar nomination for her work in The Reader and the debate rages on as to whether or not the British beauty has gone under the knife to enhance her looks. Some feel that the actress may have had some face work done on her nose and eyes, while others feel her weight loss is responsible for the positive change in her appearance. See Make Me Heal’s story on Kate Winslet’s plastic surgery.

Make Me Heal wishes all the Best Actress nominees good luck at the upcoming awards.
