The list of nominees for the 2014 SAG Awards has just been released. With just a little over a month before the big event on January 18, these stars have plenty of time to prep and primp and even undergo a little minor plastic surgery to look their best on the red carpet—or even as they accept their awards onstage. With so many actors and actresses to consider, here’s a look at Makemeheal.com’s most likely to visit a plastic surgeon ahead of the big day:
Matthew McConaughey was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in The Dallas Buyers Club. It’s hard to tell whether or not he will end up with the award because he has some heavy competition coming from the likes of Bruce Dern, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tom Hanks and Forest Whitaker. While he dropped a lot of weight for the role, Matthew will most likely be back in fighting shape and he may or may not get additional hair transplants or sport a hairpiece for the special occasion.
Oddly enough many of the women in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category have sworn off plastic surgery, including Cate Blanchett and Emma Thompson. However, Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock have never admitted to being under the knife, while both are rumored to have had a few careful nips and tucks over the years. It seems unlikely that Judi Dench will have much more than a facial ahead of the event.
In the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role category, Jared Leto relied on heavy makeup and a great deal of weight loss to play a transgendered individual in The Dallas Buyers Club. Heavy stage makeup can wreak havoc on the skin, so he may be going in for some laser treatments or chemical peels to get his glow back. The other men in his category, including Michael Fassbender tend to have reputations as being rough and rugged and didn’t need the same type of heavy makeup for their roles, so they will probably just shower, shave and show up for the big event. The late actor James Gandolfini was also nominated for this category and it will be interesting to see how the event honors the man best known for his role on the television series The Sopranos.
In the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, the big surprise was Oprah Winfrey’s nomination. It was the daytime talk show giant’s first return to acting after appearing in The Color Purple back in 1985. Oprah is well known for her fluctuating weight so she will likely be careful about what she eats over the holidays in order to look extra stunning on the red carpet. It is likely that the rest of her competition, Jennifer Lawrence, Lupita Nyong’O, Julia Roberts and June Squibb will take extra good care of their skin with skincare treatments and products, but as none of them are famous for plastic surgery, they most likely won’t start before awards season begins.none
