The 20th annual SAG-AFTRA Awards were held last night, and the stars brought plenty of glamour and even a touch of plastic surgery here and there. The Awards show is different as the actors are voting for each other, rather than an audience, which can lead to some surprising moments and some votes that skew a little differently than other awards shows.
Lupita Nyong’o won for Supporting Actress in a Drama Film for her work in 12 Years a Slave and looked amazing and glamorous in a brilliantly hued gown with a stunning neckline. She looked to be winning with nothing more than some matching eyeshadwow, rather than plastic surgery.
Jared Leto won for Supporting Actor for his role in Dallas Buyers Club and accepted his award with long tousled locks dyed in the currently popular ombre technique, but didn’t look to have had plastic surgery—although his glow could be the result of a recent chemical peel.
Best Actor in a Film went to Jared’s costar, Matthew McConaughey. While Matthew is still looking very thin, he does look like he is slowly packing on the pounds and beginning to look like his old self after dropping a whole lot of weight to play a victim of AIDS turned activist in Dallas Buyers Club. Matthew was sporting a healthy looking tan which could be the result of a life lived outdoors or some self-tanner, which is healthier as there are no harmful UV rays. In the past, Matthew is thought to have gotten a hair transplant to replace his curls rather than using a hairpiece as some actors do.
Best Actress in a Film went to Cate Blanchett for her work in Blue Jasmine. Cate always looks fresh faced and stunning on the red carpet, which she often attributes to using the full line of SK-II skincare products, which she also endorses. Cate has been outspoken in her views against plastic surgery and given that she does have a few fine lines here and there and no symptoms of anything drastic such as a nose job, Makemeheal.com is inclined to believe her. Cate’s competition in the category included heavy hitters and long tine winners such as Judi Dench for Philomena, Meryl Streep for August: Osage County and Emma Thompson for Saving Mr. Banks as well as former Miss Congenialty and America’s Sweetheart Sandra Bullock, who is suspected of getting Botox injections the past few years.
Best Actress in a Comedy Series Julia Louis-Dreyfuss accepted her award looking even better than she did in her Seinfeld winning days and true to form, gave her speech in character as the perpetually confused Veep. As Julia seems to get younger and hotter with age, it seems that she may have had some plastic surgery, including Botox and nose surgery since moving from New York to the White House.
Best Actor in a Comedy Series went to Modern Family’s Ty Burell. The gangly actor often looks tired so he could probably use a little plastic surgery refresher, or at least some concealer makeup to get rid of the dark circles under his eyes.none
