Best known to American audiences for her role on Pushing Daisies, British actress Anna Friel blames laser treatments for her perfect skin. But Makemeheal.com suspects that some more plastic surgery may be at play than Anna is letting on.
33-year old Anna Friel was only considering plastic surgery when Make Me Heal last reported on her, (See Make Me Heal’s story on Anna Friel’s plastic surgery). Now it seems she has gone ahead and had Polaris laser treatment, which wholeheartedly endorsed to the Daily Mail.
Anna says, “I do have something called Polaris.”
“It’s like a laser machine that brings collagen to the surface and reconditions the skin. “
“You can see an immediate difference. It’s the best thing around.”
Miami Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “ I think it looks more like her laser treatments work even better when combined with Botox treatments. Lasers are great, but they only treat the superficial surface of the skin. Facial wrinkles are caused by muscle movements below the surface of the skin. The only way to get a perfectly smooth appearance such as Anna’s is by injecting something, such as Botox, into the muscles and stopping the muscle movement.”
Anna claims she hasn’t had Botox, saying, “ ‘I’m sure I’ll be one of those people who has bits of tweaking. I haven’t done Botox because I’m scared that I won’t be able to move my face.”
However, Make Me Heal thinks that Anna may have used just a touch of Botox as Anna’s face is rather perfectly smooth, like a Botox user’s.
According to Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, California says, “ Anna Friel does not appear to have had any plastic surgery at this point. Fillers and Botox are possible, but if so, they were performed conservatively. Overall, her look is very natural. ”
Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr Jennifer Walden says, “Anna Friel has beautiful skin. The 33 year old actress claims that a laser device called a Polaris is to be credited for the overall smooth wrinkle free appearance. The laser probably is a large factor in her even skin texture and for resurfacing fine wrinkles, but for actual furrows and wrinkles caused by animation (smiling or frowning), Botox would probably have a better overall effect given its different mechanism of action. She also looks like she doesn’t smoke or overexpose her skin to the sun.”
Anna is open about more invasive plastic surgery in the future, saying she just hasn’t done it yet.
“I’m not going to say I wouldn’t have anything done because I’d be a liar.”
Make Me Heal thinks Anna has a very healthy attitude about plastic surgery and looks forward to seeing what she admits to next. Fans can next see Anna and her perfect complexion in some films coming out later this year including London Boulevard.
