American sex symbol, playmate, and all around vixen of dramatic circumstance Anna Nicole Smtih has made her way back into conversation even after her death less than six months ago. It seems as though controversy and the late Anna Nicole are bound to walk together, even through her passing and the most recent discussion at hand began on Friday when a restraining order was signed by Los Angeles judge Mitchell L. Beckloff that prohibits the distribution of a videotape that captured the pin up’s first breast augmentation surgery on October 17, 1994. The videotape was made by Dr. Gerald Wayne Johson, the plastic surgeon who performed her breast augmentation. A restraining order is coming from Smith’s estate executor, Howard K. Stern. Stern is suing Dr. Johnson for illegally making the tape and then trying to sell it after her death to Thomas Riccio, an
This recorded breast augmentation was one of a few alleged breast implant procedures that Anna Nicole has received during her lifetime, with the first boob job dating to her appearance on Playboy. Anna Nicole allegedly demanded that two implants be placed in each breast. These claims may have some substance, as photos of Anna Nicole give the impression of a very large, and in Anna’s case “two” very large implants, as acknowledged by the seeming pull of the implant up off of her shoulder and chest bones. Anna Nicole’s official measurements are 38″DD – 26″ – 38″.
Throughout the course of Anna Nicole’s career, she has been linked to other cosmetic surgery procedures, including lip augmentation, a breast lift to push up her gargantuan breasts, a facelift, cheek implants, and some botox treatments. Given her crazed lifestyle and excessive weight gain and loss, the toll isn’t apparent on her face probably due to her surgical choices. People have also speculated that Anna Nicole’s dramatic weight loss was not entirely achieved through her Trimspa diet and that she got a bit of help from the knife via tummy tuck and liposuction. In any case, her weight loss was so significant that she was likely left with excessive amount of sagging skin which can only be trimmed and removed through a plastic surgery such as a tummy tuck.
The troubled 39-year old heiress reportedly went in for a final breast surgery just before her death and in doing so, helped other to revisit the idea the she was indeed heavily abusing pain medications, due to her tolerance of their effects (all ten kinds that were tried) during her time under the knife.
As for the case of the illegal taping of Smith’s breast procedures, serious justice is in the need of being served. Stern claims that the video was taped with Smith’s permission. To his defense, Dr. Johnson wrote in a letter that he regularly videotapes surgeries of his patients provided that he has the patient’s permission and that he keeps them confidential “during the patient’s lifetime.” Dr. Johnson said that he gave memorabilia dealer Riccio permission to use the Anna Nicole Smith’s video only after her death.
It is a safe assessment that if Nicole was taped without permission, other patients may have been too, and after the final decision is made on September 26th during his trial, Dr. Johnson may be suspended or worse, become unwillingly forced to look for a career change. If he is found guilty, perhaps a fitting choice for Dr. Johnson would be one that does not revolve around the dehumanizing of women during one of their most open and trusted times while believing that they are safely and privately in the hands of someone about to make them more beautiful — not objectified.
