  • Make Me Heal has noticed that despite their natural beauty, supermodels tend to have at least one thing in common besides their good looks: plastic surgery. So it seems more than likely that the latest supermodel to grace the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, Bar Refaeli, has spent her share of time under the knife.

At 23-years old, Bar Refaeli has been modeling practically since birth, appearing on commercials as an infant. Since then, Bar has gained worldwide fame outside her native Israel and has most recently been romantically linked to actor Leonardo DiCaprio. (See Make Me Heal’s story on Leonardo DiCaprio’s plastic surgery).

Bar clearly works hard on her body, and is often photographed in beachwear both on and off work. But Make Me Heal can’t help thinking that not all of her fine assets are nature made and that her large breasts are the work of a skilled plastic surgeon.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden agrees, saying that, “Bar Refaeli has an amazing body, and it does appear that she may have undergone breast enhancement by the look and voluminous shape of her bustline in the bikini photos.”

Bar’s implants are well-done, as nearly their only giveaway is their large size on her slim frame.

New York City plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer notes, “Bar Refaeli is naturally beautiful. She certainly has a great body and face. There are a few pictures of her swimming which show her left breast volume shifted upwards as compared to her right. While other pictures at the same photo shoot show the breasts at even position. This could possibly be due to the implant shifting within in its pocket. However, I see no other evidence which would suggest plastic surgery. There is no question why she is a supermodel – she is gorgeous.”

Plastic surgery amongst supermodels is common, especially nose jobs and breast implants, leading “Body Work”…Breast and Body Contouring expert Dr. John Di Saia to surmise that Bar has, “At least breast implants.”

Bar may also have had a rhinoplasty, another common plastic surgery procedure amongst supermodels.

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., says, “Difficult for me to tell exactly, but I think her nasal tip looks a little smaller. It she did have one, it was conservative and it looks good.”

Although Dr. Nassif specializes in the face, he also notes Bar’s large chest, saying, “They do seem a little large to be natural.”

If Bar has gone for the nose job and breast implants, she would be in good company. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover models and Make Me Heal alum Elle MacPherson, Christie Brinkley, Marisa Miller and others have all had plastic surgery.

(See Make Me Heal’s story on Elle MacPherson’s plastic surgery, Christie Brinkley’s plastic surgery, and Marisa Miller’s plastic surgery).

Make Me Heal thinks Bar has a great career ahead of her and looks forward to her next campaign.

Great forum! I recently ran into The Patients Advantage when looking for a plastic surgeon. They have a great way to find the best surgeons and it is completely free. Check them out (www.ThePatientsAdvantage.com).

She does not have any surgery. Anyone looking at those pictures can tell she is all natural just grown up a bit. Her breasts are also real. I saw a picture of her in an open shirt laying down and her breasts fall to the side like large natural ones do. Not everyone who is gorgeous has had plastic surgery.

Not all thin women have small breasts. I was 5’9″ and 125 and a natural 34E. I had a breast reduction, down to a C cup. Not only am I now more comfortable, but I am not accused of having implants nearly as much anymore.

no one in the whole sports illustrated swim suit issue has fake breast, they just use a ton of photo shop and this can be seen as most of the girls have tattoos and belly piercings that magically disappear in the actual issue

She had natural breasts in her teens, about a small C cup. They were augmented to be a D cup, likely round Mentor silicone but possibly saline. Saline doesn’t feel as natural but with a bigger size to start with, they can look just as good as silicone. When a patient starts out with a C, and only goes up 1 size, there is a very good chance it is going to hang real (there is enough skin and “give” for the implant to hang nicely) She has one of the finest augmentations, however, she started with a full C so it is hardly noticeable. These are augmented breasts but she is absolutely stunning regardless. And for those of you that think otherwise, don’t forget that her mother was in the business and very seriously understood what it took to be a big model. For example, Alessandra Ambrosia’s parents, having her ears surgically pinned back at age 11. Don’t be naive.
