UsWeekly has announced that four years after leaving reality television for her own spinoff and series, Bethenny Frankel is going back to her roots. The healthy living diva will appear on the seventh season of The Real Housewives of New York.
Despite leaving the show for her own self-titled cancelled daytime talk show, producers are reportedly hoping that Bethenny Frankel is able to boost the ratings, which dropped considerably the last season, by bringing back her fans.
The benefits are mutual however, as by appearing on the show Bethenny will have yet another way to promote her growing empire of Skinnygirl products, including a cocktail line, shapewear, and several books, including a new children’s book, Cookie Meets Peanut. The new foray into children’s literature was inspired by Bethenny’s own daughter and dog duo.
Bethenny had originally left RHONY shortly after her daughter was born, saying that she didn’t see “any reason to go back.” Bethenny then went on to have her spinoff series as well as a daytime talk show and has been in a bitter divorce battle, which was only recently rectified.
When Bethenny first left the show, it was reportedly over some drama with her then-costars. Since then, the cast of RHONY has changed a lot, with the original ladies only making occasional appearances.
What hasn’t changed is the cast’s devotion to plastic surgery, including Bethenny herself.
During her stint as a talk show host, Bethenny used her program to talk about celebrity plastic surgery whenever possible, including her own experiences under the knife.
The 43-year old native New Yorker admitted to having a breast augmentation in order to improve her saggy 35-year old breasts, but that the procedure didn’t help and actually made the situation worse.
“He told me there would be big lollipop scars if I got a lift. Being single at the time, I wasn’t comfortable with that idea. He told me he could instead put in a small implant that would give me a lift – not as much as a real lift would but at least a little bit of a lift. So I did it.”
But with the implants, Bethenny explains, “They were still saggy – only now they were bigger! They were saggy and gigantic. I was so uncomfortable. I don’t think your breasts should be the first thing people notice when you enter a room.” Bethenny wanted another surgery to remove the implants – but as a struggling chef, she didn’t have the funds. That all changed in 2008, when she appeared on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City. “The minute I had the money, I was like, ‘Let’s do it.’”
Now, Bethenny is happy with her breasts but she still protests against other rumors of plastic surgery. Bethenny is prone to being very thin, which somehow makes her forehead a very prominent feature and very smooth, similar to the appearance that one gets after Botox injections.
According to Bethenny, the rumors are false because she rarely uses Botox but might consider the injectable in the future.
