  • From entrepreneur to Real Housewife of New York to talk show host, Bethenny Frankel has built her brand on her name and her looks. Whether hawking diet products or having babies and going through messy divorces, Bethenny always seem to look calm. Many have assumed that as a plastic surgery fan, her un-furrowed brow comes courtesy of Botox, but according to Bethenny herself, nothing could be further from the truth.

Since her talk show began, 43-year old Bethenny Frankel has opened up to fans about her personal life, including her decision to go under the knife. Just last year, Bethenny discussed why she had breast implants placed and then removed. She explained that after losing weight, her breasts hung low and the implants helped boost them up. Then she decided they were too much for her frame and had them removed, with a breast lift so that they were nice and high but not too big or fake.

According to Bethenny, she believes in moderation in all parts of her life, and that includes plastic surgery and Botox injections. After the paparazzi took a photo of her with an especially arched-looking brow, The Daily Mail quoted a plastic surgeon, who had not treated the star, as saying that she looked as though she had received Botox injections “in all the wrong places.”

To prove him wrong, Bethenny faced the camera full on and let the camera zoom in on her wrinkled brow, saying, “Those are my wrinkles in my forehead, these are these guys over here.”

Although she is able to wrinkle her forehead because it isn’t currently frozen with Botox, Bethenny did end the segment with a caveat concerning her relationship with Botox: just because she isn’t using Botox now doesn’t mean that she hasn’t used it in the past or won’t use it in the future. But she does believe that when it comes to using artificial ingredients, moderation is key in all things.

“Now, I am not saying I haven’t ever done Botox,” Bethenny explained. “I am not saying I wouldn’t do Botox, but I am not doing Botox on the regular because I am not one of those people that walks up to a mirror and says, ‘Hmm, let me look at myself, let me see what I need to fix, let me see what I can do.’

“That’s not really me and I believe in everything in moderation.”

She then accused the doctor that had been quoted in The Daily Mail of not knowing what he is talking about, but it can be hard to assess photos for signs of plastic surgery because they can be taken at a bad angle, as seems to be the case in this instance.

Should Bethenny decide to try Botox again, she may want to recover more quickly with a facial compress so that any bruising or swelling at the injection sites aren’t readily apparent to the prying lenses of the paparazzi. Or stick with skincare products that can ward of wrinkles without freezing the face like Botox.
