While reality television has been known to break up many celebrity couples, Bill Rancic and his wife Giuliana are still reality TV’s favorite sweethearts. In addition to giving viewers a look at their hectic daily lives, the duo also shares their struggles with viewers about overcoming major issues, including fertility and Giuliana’s breast cancer. In addition, Bill recently came clean about his years long battle with hair loss and how he decided to treat it: with Rogaine.
Bill is a spokesperson for Rogaine, saying that after struggling with thinning hair for years, the product helped him regain not only his hair, but also his self-confidence. He sat down with Wetpaint.com to discuss his battle.
When asked how he decided to partner with Rogaine, Bill explains, “You know, Rogaine and I started talking a while ago about a partnership because I was a customer. When I met with them, we pulled up the before and after photos of me on the Internet and the difference was truly remarkable. I look at some of these pictures and I realized how much Rogaine had helped after I started using it on a regular basis. So it was just a very natural fit.”
At first, Bill used Rogaine only occasionally but after his hair loss worsened, he began to be more diligent about using it and really noticed results.
“I had been using it off and on for the past few years, but consistently for about the past two years. I used it twice and day and really started taking it seriously.”
Bill became more serious about using the product when he looked at old photos and hardly recognized himself.
“Thinning, my hair was thinning. One day I looked at a picture of myself and I was like, “Whoa! That’s me?” It was a wake-up call.”
Despite the plethora of systems that can help with hair loss that are available without a prescription, Bill felt that Rogaine was the right one for him.
“It was just the easiest. It’s like brushing your teeth – it takes very little time at all. You don’t need a prescription; you just buy it over the counter and throw it in your shaving kit and go. It’s 30 seconds in the morning and 30 seconds at night.”
“And while he acknowledges that most men don’t want to talk about their loss, especially in Hollywood, Bill says that he decided to go public about his own battle because it affects so many aspects of life and so many men struggle with it.”
“I look at it like this: when a guy starts losing his hair, it affects so many aspects of his life. It affects his confidence level at work. It affects his dating life. It affects his overall image of himself. And a staggering number of men deal with it – one in four. So you’re talking about 25 percent of all men out there dealing with some form of hair loss. When you can fix a problem and face it head-on, that’s the way to do it. For most problems, they don’t go away. So for me, it was like, I faced the problem and I dealt with it. And now, I’m totally comfortable talking about it. It doesn’t have to be embarrassing.”
Biil is even said to want to recruit Prince William for a Rogaine campaign.none
