  • British-American model Calum Best became a television personality best known for his stand up spiked haircut. So when his hair began to thin and recede, it affected him greatly. The troubled star has been on British reality shows and even been romantically linked to Lindsay Lohan. In an effort to get his mojo back, Best has recently revealed that he has had hair transplant surgery—his second in two years.

32-year old Calum Best declared bankruptcy last year, but says that having his trademark hairstyle back has helped to boost his confidence. The Daily Mail reports that Calum spent almost $10,000 on a hair transplant at Manchester’s Crown Clinic, having 1,257 grafts – amounting to 2,228 individual hairs moved from the side of his head to the front of his hairline.

Apparently Calum has been losing his hair since the age of 23 and explained to the Daily Mail that hair loss is an ongoing process, but that hair transplants make a big difference in combating it.

“It is fact of life that hair loss is a continuous process. While the hair transplanted in my previous operation is permanent, I am continuing to lose my natural hair.”

Apparently Calum like the results of his first hair transplant plastic surgery procedure so much that he decided to go for a second round.

“I had the second procedure because I was so pleased with the first one and how it helped to boost my confidence and work opportunities. Once again, I have a much fuller hairline and the whole front of my scalp looks so much better.”

“The operation has given me a lot more flexibility with my hair. I can continue to wear it spiked up.”

Prior to the procedures, Calum was forced to wear his much shorter on the top and it laid flat to conceal his receding hairline. Now he is back to his usual sportier look.

Calum is not only a model and personality, but he is also the son of football legend George Best. According to Calum, having plastic surgery procedures like hair transplants no longer bears a stigma as more and more high-profile stars have admitted to getting it done.

“Stars like Wayne Rooney and James Nesbitt have made a big difference. They’ve been very open about what they have had done and most men just say, “Good on them”. And most women say, ‘Don’t they look better.’”

Having the hair transplant has also helped boost his confidence as an aspiring actor.

“You worry when you go to auditions that directors are looking at your receding hairline. It’s a distraction you don’t need and, thankfully, one that can be remedied by a transplant.”

Calum’s second hair transplant took place quite recently and will take anywhere from six months to a year to fully grow in and show results. The procedure was done by Dr. Asim Shahmalak, who frequently treats celebrities treat breast cancer generic Premarin and used the Follicular Unit Extraction technique.

According to the doctor, more and more men are opting to have hair transplants at a young age, before 30. purchase Prozac
