Since unveiling her Body Book, Cameron Diaz has been promoting her thoughts on living and continues to dish on everything under the sun, including Botox.
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, 41-year old Cameron Diaz revealed her thoughts on aging.
“I can’t wait to be older,” she says. “This is something we really need to reframe,” she says. “The most interesting parts are for women who are over 40. We don’t see it that way, because they’re not the sexy parts. Look at the Oscar nominees in the last decade.” Cameron then names actresses Meryl Streep and Judi Dench.
Later in the interview, she also discusses aging women as being a focus of her book.
“I wrote it because a lot of women don’t see themselves as beautiful. Once you understand how your body works at a cellular level, you’re able to have the body you’re meant to. And I’m not talking about a body like mine that’s skinny, or a body you think is better than yours. I’m talking about having a real relationship with your own body. Getting older is not just about your butt dropping, it means that our bodies start to break down and we die. But the journey from here to there doesn’t have to be one of hatred, wishing you looked like you did when you were 25.”
Despite her positive outlook on aging, she isn’t against plastic surgery.
“Life is long. There are things that you try that work for you and things that don’t work for you. I’m not going to say that I haven’t tried those things, because everybody has, all my girl friends have, things like Botox and fillers,” she says. “It’s part of figuring things out, knowing yourself and going, ‘Oh right, this doesn’t work for me.’”
That said, Cameron is speaking from personal experience. In a past interview to promote her book, Cameron revealed that she had used Botox and didn’t like the results.
“I’ve tried [Botox] before, where it was like a little tiny touch of something.”
“It changed my face in such a weird way that I was like, ‘No, I don’t want to be like that’ – I’d rather see my face aging than a face that doesn’t belong to me at all,” she added to ET online, via The Mirror Online.
Cameron seems to be reconciled to the aging process after having tried to fight it with things like Botox in the past. At one point her face was so smooth and shiny that rumors were flying around that the actress had undergone a facelift, but given that she no longer appears to have a very tightly pulled face and she has stopped using Botox, it seems likely that she didn’t go under the knife, but simply over did the wrinkle removing injectable.
Thus far, it seems that the only plastic surgery Cameron has had are nose jobs, which she has said were necessary to do various injuries that caused her to nose to break. It has also been rumored that Cameron has had breast implants as her chest appeared fuller for a while, especially in bikini tops.
