  • Oscar-nominated actress Carey Mulligan may be young, but she knows what she doesn’t want: Botox.

In an interview with Elle UK, 25-year old Carey Mulligan recalled a conversation she had with a plastic surgeon upon her arrival in Hollywoodland. The doctor recommended Botox after Carey complained about some lines around her eyes.

“I said, ‘I have some lines here under my eye and they’re annoying, what can you do?’ He looked at my face and said, ‘We’ll just drop some Botox in here and here…’” she recalls. “I said, ‘What the —-? I’m only 25! Are you joking?’”

“Isn’t that, well, the antithesis of what I’m trying to do as an actress? Only in L.A. would someone try and give you Botox when you’re 25 years old.”

While Cary may not feel she has a need for Botox, some 25-year olds may experience premature aging and find Botox an excellent remedy.

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “I don’t think 25 is too young for Botox, if you need it. Carey Mulligan does not have a wrinkle or line on her forehead. One day she will and Botox is the perfect treatment for that. She has a cute look and is fitting for her young age. If wants to get a more striking look she could refine the tip of her nose with a Rhinoplasty giving her a more defined look to her face.”

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, California says, “Carey Mulligan would not benefit from any procedures to her face, as she is still young and has a very natural look. Typically, individuals wait until they are above the age of 25 to have Botox injections.  Around age 25, wrinkles are not yet prominent in areas that may benefit from Botox injections.  However, it is a personal preference, and one may have Botox at that age if they wish.”

Makemeheal.com looks forward to seeing whether Carey continues to be plastic surgery free as her film career continues to grow.
