  • Courteney Cox has built her career off being the straight lady in a world of funny. But when she stepped out without makeup last month, there was noting funny about her looks. Instead, Courteney is starting to look down right scary as a result of too much plastic surgery.

While directing her new movie, Hello I Must Be Going, in L.A on July 8, 2013, the 49-year old actress was caught on camera going without makeup, and revealing a rather distorted looking face.

The former Friend has been getting way too friendly with plastic surgery over the years. Since moving from Friends to CourgarTown, Courteny has been getting more flack for her looks than ever and plastic surgery is undoubtedly to blame.

With makeup, Courtney is better able to hide the results of a face that has been over filled and smoothed with Botox and fillers. Professionally applied makeup gives Courteney’s face more natural looking definition. Without makeup, Courteney’s face looks swollen and puffy, but with her usual makeup routine, one can see her high cheekbones and lips that are full and luscious, but not lionesque.

Amongst Hollywood tabloid reports, Courteney seems to be becoming better known for her regular overload of plastic surgery, which mainly includes fillers such as Juvederm in her lips and cheeks and the overuse of Botox in her forehead and between her brows. In fact, Courteney’s obvious use of plastic surgery seems to be overshadowing not only her career, but even her personal life, despite a very public and unusual breakup situation with her former husband, David Arquette.

Much of the reason for Courteney’s seemingly over zealous use of plastic surgery to turn back the hands of time is an insecurity about her looks. Despite being picked up as the hot girl in the crowd in a Bruce Springsteen music video early on in her career, Courteney has been quoted several times throughout her career as not feeling inadequate in LaLa Land and feeling poorly about everything from her weight to her hands.

Years ago, while still on Friends, Courteney received a lot of flack for dropping a lot of weight and taking on a gaunt appearance. At the time, Courteney fought back at critics, saying, “I don`t think I`m too thin at all. I understand when people say, `Well your face gets gaunt,` but to get your bottom half to be the right size, your face might have to be a little gaunt. You choose your battles.”

More recently, Courteney has openly admitted to fearing the aging process and how it affects her appearance, saying, I have issues with getting older, sure. There are huge changes in my body and my face, and I obsess over them. I just try not to have too many mirrors around.”

Fewer mirrors might help, but what would also certainly help is to lay off the Botox and dermal injectables for a bit. These procedures are temporary and by relaxing them, Courteney would likely go back to having a more natural appearance.

After all, there are already plenty of “catwomen,” and Courteney doesn’t need to look like them if she wants to avoid being plagued by comments about her appearance.
