Cyndi Lauper looked like the girl might have had a little too much fun in the sun, after cameras captured her with red, scaly skin as she exited an airport. The appearance of her skin was similar to that of patients after a chemical peel, a popular non-invasive plastic surgery.
After 57-year old Cyndi was photographed with red, blotchy peeling skin, her publicist reported that the singer had “a bad reaction to a spa treatment.” Cyndi’s spa treatment was most likely a chemical peel, part of the regimen that keeps her skin young and smooth (See Make Me Heal’s story on Cyndi Lauper’s plastic surgery), in addition to Botox, facial fillers and possibly more invasive procedures, including a lower blepharoplasty and mini-facelift.
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “ Cyndi Lauper’s face is severely red and irritated looking. This could have been caused by an aggressive chemical peel. After a few days the redness should go away and she most likely will see an improvement in her skin tone and fewer fine lines and wrinkles. It is very important to wear sun block and protect your face from sun expose at this stage of healing otherwise there could be darkening of the treated areas on the face.”
Cyndi looks like she has since mostly recovered from her chemical peel, as she was again filmed at an airport, sporting a dark veil and large sunglasses while she gave an impromptu rendition of her hit song Girls Just Wanna Have Fun over the loudspeaker system at Jorge Newbery Airport in Buenos Aires.
Cyndi’s spunky attitude is likely just as responsible for her youthful appearance as her plastic surgery and Makemeheal.com looks forward to seeing what the 80s pop icon does next.
