  • For the past few years Daryl Hannah has been talked about as much for her possible plastic surgery as for her iconic role as a mermaid in Splash! Now the blond actress is saying that the rumors aren’t true and that she is turning her back on Hollywood.

49-year old Daryl Hannah has long reined as one of Hollywood’s leading ladies, but lately she has spent more time off screen than on. An avid environmentalist, in the past Daryl has been rumored to have undergone numerous plastic surgeries, including eyelid procedures, lip augmentation, cheek implants, a chin implant and Botox injections. These rumors seemed to be confirmed by a rather bloated, post-op photo caught by paparazzi cameras (See Make Me Heal’s story on Daryl Hannah’s plastic surgery).

In an interview with Britain’s You Magazine, Daryl talks about the rumors and how they have hurt her career.

“There are so many people in LA who have had cosmetic surgery and they all look like Muppets she says, firmly. There was a picture taken a while ago of me emerging from the ocean, with my hair slicked back and no make-up on. I looked as though I had puffy, squinty eyes and the rumor went round I’d had work done; I lost jobs because of it and I thought about suing, but in the States you have to prove malicious intent.

I’ve got a little jowly, and sometimes I look in the mirror and think, ‘Oh my God’, but I am too much of a coward to go under a surgeon’s knife for something that wasn’t life-saving. I’ve had knee and elbow operations, and I’ve broken my back three times, riding and performing movie stunts, and that gives you an appreciation of your body. I lost the top of my finger playing on my grandma’s mobility stair lift. It was terrifying, but could have been so much worse – and it has bestowed on me an ability to be a more compassionate person.”

Daryl may not consider injectable fillers plastic surgery, as she shied away from mentioning them. Also, in the photos used in Makemeheal.com‘s former story, Daryl was clearly not dressed for the beach, but still looked as though she had a recent allergic reaction, or recent plastic surgery.

Board certified Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “It is unclear if Daryl Hannah has had plastic surgery or just blessed with good genes.  Her skin appears smooth which could be achieved with Botox Cosmetic, but no one knows for sure.”

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a rhinoplasty specialist in Beverly Hills, California, says, “Daryl Hannah appears to have had lots of Botox, and possibly a forehead lift and facelift. In addition, her cheeks appear large.  She may have had fat injected, and possibly filler injected in her lips.  Overall, the work she had performed was overdone. She would not benefit from any additional work at this time.”

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Daryl Hannah may not have under gone “the knife” so to speak, but she certainly benefits from some non-surgical cosmetic treatments such as Botox to her forehead and fillers to fill out creases and wrinkles on her face.”

Make Me Heal commends Daryl’s environmental enthusiasm and hopes her efforts to save the planet are successful, whether or not she comes clean about her plastic surgery.

Yea right! She’s definitely had cheek implants, dermal fillers and lip augmentation. You’d have to be blind not to see that.
