Botox has a powerful reputation as an excellent tool in the battle against wrinkles, but apparently it may also help with symptoms of MS, according to Amy Winehouse’s mom, Janis.
57-year old Janis Winehouse, mother of the late singer Amy Winehouse, has suffered from multiple sclerosis (MS) for over 30 years. Despite, stiffness in her joints, memory loss and incontinence, she remains upbeat, according to the Daily Mail.
Janis has tried numerous drugs for her MS symptoms, some of which have worked and others that haven’t. One treatment was having Botox injected into her bladder to help with incontinence.
Janis says of getting the injections “It’s helped me regain my dignity.”
Botox is becoming a fairly common method of treating incontinence, and despite some possibilities of side effects, seems to be helping people with the condition.
