  • Actor and active Scientologist John Travolta has been struggling with hair loss for years, often relying on hairpieces to help him look younger. Recently he appeared to grow a nearly full head of hair within mere days, a possible sign of hair restoration.

57-year old John Travolta has been losing his hair for years, alternating between wearing hairpieces to cover up the loss and changing his look up by shaving his head entirely (see related stories on Travolta’s Hair Piece and John Travolta’s Hair Toupee At The Oscars).

John rarely appears in official capacities without hair, indicating that his newest growth could just be another hair piece, which wouldn’t require plastic surgery recovery downtime.

Dr. David Shafer, celebrity plastic surgeon in New York City says, ”If he had a recent hair transplant, those translated hairs will be visible.”

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “It normally takes a few months after a hair transplant procedure for the new hair follicles to grow. With that full head of hair, John Travolta is most certainly sporting a hair piece.  It looks great though and he certainly does look younger with it.”

Most fans support John’s decision to refrain from plastic surgery hair restoration, although modern techniques can give very natural results.
