  • Model and member of Paris Hilton’s inner circle Kimberly Stewart knows something about plastic surgery, thanks to her Hollywood upbringing. But it looks like the model has decided to forgo breast implants.

30-year old daughter of rock star Rod Stewart is a leggy blond, with a successful modeling career she has parlayed into acting. After undergoing an obvious breast augmentation, it seems that she has since decided to remove the implants.

    Kimberly Stewart, Plastic Surgery

Board certified Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says,”Kimberly Stewart reportedly had her breast implants removed for “health reasons,” but there is speculation that she developed capsular contracture.  If so, contracture is a known phenomenon with breast implants which would require reoperative surgery to remove the scar tissue and replace the implants. “

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “It is possible that Kimberly Stewart removed her breast implants.  In a very small percentage of breast augmentation patients some may experience a complication afterwards called capsular contracture.  It is when excessive scar tissue builds up around the implant and causes the breast to become misshapen and hard feeling.  It is more prone to arise in patients that smoke.  If this happens, there are some treatments that can help improve the appearance and feel.  If too severe or none of the treatments seem to help, it is often recommended that the implants be removed.”

Kimberly may also have undergone a rhinoplasty in the past, which was more successful than her unfortunate breast augmentation. Her nose is much more sophisticated now that it is smaller and not as bumpy.

On his blog, plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn says, ” If she has indeed had the surgery (which looks like it to me), the surgery was a success. I always say that a good rhinoplasty de-emphasizes the nose and allows other, more attractive parts of the face to be more noticeable. This looks to be a great example of that.”

On his blog, OcBody plastic surgeon Dr. John DiSaia says, ” As the story goes Kimberly Stewart had breast implant surgery years ago and later had them removed over “health fears.” As she was smoking at the time and they were large (relative to her slight frame) I’d bet they were affected by capsular contracture and this may have scared her. A short YouTube video I made of a breast implant removal operation in a woman affected by a severe case of this breast hardening is posted below. This seems to affect patients who smoke and patients who have silicone gel implants more commonly. “

“After her removal operation, Kimberly gave her implants to Jack Osbourne who framed them and put them on his wall. Touching. It looks like she also had a nose job that worked out better for her. “

Kimberly still makes red carpet appearances and Makemeheal.com looks forward to the next part of her career, whether it’s in fashion or film.

I wonder if lifestyle has something to with capsular contracture? People need to take better care of their bodies!

In case of capsular contracture she had to remove the implants.

I don’t think that capsular contracture has something with lifestyle, but it is obviouse that breast implants changes lifestyle of women.
