  • Nicole Kidman may be one of the best known actresses around, but even she isn’t immune to the occasional beauty disaster. From being photographed with poorly done makeup shining on her face to being accused of looking robotic due to an overload of Botox injections, Nicole may as well known for her plastic surgery as for her acting chops. That said, it appears that Nicole has solved one beauty blunder without plastic surgery: thinning hair.

Back in 2012, Nicole Kidman was spotted jet setting with lackluster locks. Due to over dyeing and a reliance on hair extensions, Nicole’s hair was thin, dry and growing in patchy enough to see scalp. She may have also used hair straightening treatments that put further stress on her hair because when she first hit Hollywood, her hair was super curly—although that could have been due to the perms popular at the time.

Now, it seems that Nicole has found a solution to her thinning hair problem, supplements from Swisse, for whom Nicole also works as an ambassador. In a recent interview with Marie Claire magazine Nicole credited Swisse for helping her hair bounce back.

When asked by Marie Claire to reveal her beauty secret, Nicole responded, “For my hair, it’s Swisse Ultiboost Hair Skin Nails supplements. My hair had gotten so thin and I was done putting in the (fake) pieces, so I cut it off and started those religiously—it’s much thicker now.”

If Nicole didn’t find help in a bottle, she may have considered other treatments, including hair transplants or even using Latisse off label. Latisse is a prescription treatment to help grow eyelashes and may be used for small areas of hair loss as well.

Nicole isn’t the only celebrity to suffer from hair loss as a result of wearing extensions and over processing her hair with color and chemicals.

Although Jennifer Aniston is credited with one of the most famous hairstyles of all time, she is said to suffer from hair problems, chopping off her famous long locks and hiding under hats.

Ariana Grande says that her role as Cat took a toll on her natural hair, explaining via Instagram, “”I had to bleach my hair and dye it red every other week for the first 4 years of playing Cat . . . as one would assume, that completely destroyed my hair. I now wear a wig on Sam & Cat. My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions, but I wear it in a pony tail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down.”

And other stars known for sporting hair extensions and big hairstyles, like Kim Kardashian, Naomi Campbell, Lindsay Lohan and even hair chameleon Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez have been caught wandering around with bald patches.

Maybe Nicole will pass on her secret for regrowing her hair to her famous friends?
