Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler was in Paraguay for a concert series when he slipped and fell in his hotel room, requiring immediate medical attention.
63-year-old Steven Tyler, who has struggled with addiction in the past, says he hadn’t fallen off the wagon when he fell in his hotel room, chipping two teeth and cutting his face.
A spokesman for the group holding the concert says that Steven was treated at a local hospital for cuts on his face and received two dental implants for the broken teeth.
To avoid scarring, Steven may want to use a scar treatment after his bandages come off and avoid sun exposure as well.
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “The most important things to do to prevent poor scaring after an injury is to avoid sun exposure to the injured site. Incisions and bruises are affected by sun exposure and can scar and darken the skin.”
Steven Tyler is rumored to be using dermal injectables like Perlane or Radiesse injected into his face to soften some of his deeper wrinkles, and may even have had a facelift as well (See Make Me Heal’s story on Steven Tyler’s plastic surgery).
Makemeheal.com is glad the incident wasn’t serious and that Steven is back to walking this way.
