You can’t keep Dolly Parton down. In a recent interview with Nightline, Dolly dished on everything from her relationship with her lifelong bestie to her famous plastic surgery.
66-year old Dolly Parton is as active as ever, performing and giving back to the community with a literacy program called Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. And through all her activities she has maintained her sense of humor and her openness about plastic surgery (See Make Me Heal’s story on Dolly Parton’s plastic surgery).
When asked about plastic surgery, Dolly says, “I think you should do it if it’s gonna make you feel better.”
As for how her famously large breast implants are doing: “I don’t think they age,” Parton laughs. “My girls are doing pretty good.”
Dolly has also undergone face, neck and brow lifts, eyelid lift (Blepharoplsty), nose job as well as more minor plastic surgery procedures that require little time for plastic surgery recovery, such as lip augmentation, facial fillers and Botox.
Dolly plans to keep going for as long as she can, saying “I will never retire unless I had to,” Parton insists. “As long as I’m able to get up in the morning, get that makeup on, get those high heels on. Even if I can’t wear the high heels, if I’m not able to wear ‘em, I’m going to do like Mae West and sit in a wheelchair with my high heels on and have somebody wheel me around.”
