Heidi Montag recently appeared on the red carpet for the first time since downsizing her breast implants but just days before her big outing, she appeared on Extra to talk about the recent rumors surrounding Renee Zellweger’s ever changing appearance. According to Heidi, she can empathize with the scrutiny on the actress’s face because of her own experience in the public eye.
“I don’t know if Renee Zellweger just aged like she said, I don’t really know,” former star of The Hills Heidi Montag admitted. “For me, when I see people who look totally different, I have an empathy. I feel like I know why at least I did it, and it kind of brings it back to that time in my life. It’s just, I feel for them.”
Now 28, Heidi underwent a great number of plastic surgery procedures back in 2010. After the procedures she says that she felt pressure in Hollywood to look as good as her costars, which is why she underwent a nose job and breast augmentation before undergoing a nose job revision, chin reduction, mini brow lift, Botox in forehead and frown area, fat injections in cheeks, nasolabial folds and lips, neck liposuction, ears pinned back, liposuction on waist, hips and inner and outer thighs and buttock augmentation in addition to enlarging her breast implants.
As for other stars going under the knife, Heidi says, “I hope it’s the right decision for them. I hope they feel good about it. That’s the most important thing. My heart goes out them and I think like, ‘Why did you do that? Are you happy with it?’ It’s a hard life-changing decision when anyone does it. Obviously, they’re unhappy with something. I hope that they [find] their happiness.”
Heidi even says that she can empathize with Renee making rare public appearances because after her procedures she began to hole up with her husband, Spencer Pratt and avoid the spotlight after comments about her appearance.
“You can’t hide forever,” Spencer Pratt’s wife continued. “If you’re a public figure, you have to come out eventually. You have to feel good and feel confident about it. Even if you were feeling confident about it, sometimes it takes you back from it and makes you feel guilty about it or more judged about it when the whole world is talking negative about you.”
And she says the comments are even more hurtful when they come from those closest to you.
“You don’t realize it comes home a lot,” she reflected. “You have sisters and you have family that makes it harder, too sometimes. I think that’s one of the reasons I went into hiding and bowed out of it.”
“Not only are you getting the criticism from the world and blogs and people, everybody says negative things… it’s harder than it’s ever been to be in the public eye,” she admitted. “You have to be tougher. You have to have really thick skin.”
Renee sparked Heidi’s walk down memory lane when she stepped out and drew speculation of eyelid surgery and injectable fillers.none
