  • Irish actor Jimmy Nesbitt has publicly battled hair loss for years. But he recently showed off a full head of hair and has revealed that he has opted for a couple of hair replacement procedures over the past couple of years to restore his locks.

49-year old Jimmy Nesbitt may currently be best known for his work in The Hobbit, but he may soon become known as another actor who is brave enough to admit to plastic surgery. The Daily Mail reports that Jimmy admits to starting hair restoration procedures three years ago, undergoing two procedures and even appearing in a promotional video for his clinic of choice, the Hair Restoration Blackrock (HRBR) clinic in Dublin.

In the video, Jimmy explains his battle with hair loss and his decision to undergo plastic surgery hair restoration procedures:

“Several years ago, I began losing my hair and like a lot of men it was a major concern to me, in fact it was practically an obsession. But, also I’m an actor so I’m in the public eye a lot and I really felt that my hair loss could affect my career prospects.”

“So, after many agonies and a great amount of thought and believe me it’s something I didn’t take lightly, I took the decision to visit Hair Restoration Blackrock, Dublin in Ireland.”

“So, I had a consultation with the surgeon who told me I was a good candidate for hair transplant surgery.”

“Since then I have had two hair transplants and I am very pleased with the results. In fact, I’d go as far as to say they’ve changed my life.”

In addition to hair restoration, Jimmy says that he is also using medications Finasteride and Minoxidil in order to improve the quality of his hair as well as to prevent further hair loss.

In his video testimonial, he explains that because his new hairline has attracted so much attention, he decided to help other men experiencing hair loss that might be interested in hair restoration.

Prior to his hair restoration procedures, Jimmy was open about his obsession with his receding hairline.

Back in 2001, Jimmy admitted to taking vitamins to restore his hair. And eight years ago he revealed that he had tried a lotion to stimulate hair growth, despite the discomfort.

“It opens the pores of the scalp to encourage new growth. It’s ridiculous, but it’s horrible going bald. Anyone who says it isn’t is lying.”

In the past, Jimmy was so concerned about how his hair loss would affect his career that he wore a wig for some of his roles.

Now it seems that Jimmy is feeling much more secure about his hair situation and looks to be pleased with the results. Jimmy’s hairline looks natural and the restoration process seems to have been a success. After two restoration procedures, Jimmy’s hair is now long enough to style as he wants, whether it’s a sporty spike or over to the side.
