  • Ken and Barbie are one of history’s famous couples, up there with Romeo and Juliet or Anthony and Cleopatra. However, it seems that Human Ken and Human Barbie aren’t a perfect match in real life, despite a common interest in plastic surgery.

Human Ken Doll, the moniker that plastic surgery enthusiast Justin Jedlica has aquired thanks to his numerous procedures to make him appear more doll like, says that he has met Human Barbie, Valeria Lukyanova, the Internet sensation that has made international headlines thanks to her doll-like appearance, and the sparks didn’t fly.

Justin tells UsWeekly that his meeting with Valeria was less than an instant attraction.

“She was cute, and seemed overall sweet. I tried to give her a hug and crack up with her. She wasn’t really having it.”

In fact, Justin says that his female counterpart was more into acting like a mannequin, even when the cameras weren’t rolling, than trying to make a human connection.

According to Justin, “If she gives off too much emotion or personality, people aren’t going to associate her with a plastic object. With a dead mannequin. Right?”

For Justin, the appeal of Valeria escapes him. He says, “You don’t speak, you don’t laugh, there’s no personality. So, why are we giving you the time of day? As an out gay male, as a stepfather of two kids, you kind of start to think . . . what are you using your celebrity for?”

Justin has had 145 procedures spent more than $168,000 in his quest to look like Ken. He has said that he first had a nose job at 18, then went on to have five rhinoplasties, a cranial brow bone shape and cheek, lip, chin and buttocks augmentation, in addition to pec implants and silicone biceps. He has also had various augmentations done to his chin, cheeks, lips and buttocks.

More recently, RadarOnline reports that Justin has replaced his bicep implants with a larger size and designed custom implants to put in his shoulder for larger deltoids. Designing his own implants led Justin to create his own business, creating custom implants for others looking to undergo plastic surgery.

For her part, the Human Barbie initially denied having plastic surgery to make her appearance more doll-like. Eventually, she admitted to undergoing a nose job and breast implants and since her initial popularity has since gone on to make various claims that get even more attention than her looks. From talking to aliens to living on only air and light, Valeria has made some pretty off the wall remarks.

Valeria has maintained that plastic surgery plays a very small role in her appearance. She says that her looks are the results of makeup application combined with diet and exercise and colored contacts. Even after admitting to breast augmentation and nose job, Valeria says that photos of her looking more human were photoshopped.

Human Barbie and Human Ken may not be kismet, but their love of changing their looks will likely bind them together, at least in the eyes of the media.
