  • Charlotte Gainsbourg isn’t the first actress that comes to mind when it comes to plastic surgery. The fresh faced actress looks more like she relies on French skincare products to stay youthful. And while plastic surgery might not be her first line of defense against aging, she shares that as she grows older she sees it more and more in a positive light.

42-year old Anglo-French actress and singer Charlotte Gainsbourg has been widely recognized for her talent. She tends to take on somewhat off the radar projects, but is widely loved by audiences and critics.

Given her youthful features and fresh faced often seemingly unmade up face, it seems surprising that Charlotte would consider plastic surgery as it seems to usually be reserved for actresses that have aged more harshly or spend a lot of time under the microscope. But it seems that as she ages, Charlotte is subject to ever more pressure to retain her youthful look.

In an interview, Charlotte explains her thoughts on aging to Marie Claire, including considering going under the knife to help stem the tides of time.

“I find it truly horrible, this between two ages thing – neither too old, but no longer young, either. I thought turning 40 was the peak, the epitome of horror, but it doesn’t get better. The decline doesn’t stop. I used to think only attractive people suffered from this, but I can assure you that plain women like me – although I don’t think I’m ugly – also suffer quite hard…”

Charlotte goes on to admit that the thought of plastic surgery makes her a little uncomfortable but feels that a little can go a long way and by starting at a younger age, she will have more natural looking results.

“I’m not sure I would feel completely comfortable with (having work done), but I’m not promising I won’t. For the longest time I was one of those people who thought it was important to ‘stay natural’, but now I’m faced with the reality of it, I’m changing my mind a bit. This help… I’ve heard it has to be minimal, so that nobody notices, and you have to do it early on. So I don’t know when, but maybe some time soon.”

Charlotte’s natural look and style are hard to describe, but she has gotten a lot of attention for it over the years.

In an interview with French vogue, Charlotte dished on her favorite beauty and makeup products, which included include Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant, Clinique’s Anti-Blemish Solution, and Kerastase Resistance for her hair. Her favorite makeup products include Dior blush and mascara, MAC lip pencil, as well as concealer by Laura Mercier.

And as for how she stays slim and looking well in her clothes? Apparently Charlotte does Pilates, like other stars.

It is uncertain whether Charlotte will work up the courage to go under the knife, but she may want to start slow, using laser treatments and chemical peels to get rid of signs of damage before going for a full facelift or anything drastic.
