Last year, Jennifer Aniston shocked fans when she chopped off her long locks in favor of a short bob. While the look is all the rage, apparently Jennifer felt compelled to make the drastic haircut after her hair responded badly to a hair treatment. Now it seems that Jennifer has had more hair woes and may be experiencing hair loss.
Although 45-year old Jennifer Aniston is known for having starting one of the biggest hairstyle trends of all time, “The Rachel,” it doesn’t mean that she is immune to the problems of those with less famous locks also face. It seems that Jennifer may be experiencing some form of hair loss.
A source close to the situation said, “She’s been getting scalp stimulant treatments a few times a week and started taking prenatal vitamins in the hopes they’ll restore her hair growth. Several friends have joked that Jennifer better watch out or she’ll end up resembling her now deceased godfather Telly Savalas who was bald most of his adult life!”
Last year, Jennifer revealed that her drastic haircut wasn’t for a role, but as a result of being severely damaged.
“Funny you say that. I actually just cut all my hair off two days ago,” the star told ELLEuk.com exclusively.
“It wasn’t for a role. My hair went through a phase – I did this thing called a Brazilian and my hair did not react really well to it. It’s about 2-inches above my shoulders now,” Aniston revealed.
Other female stars have also experienced some form of hair loss as well, usually as a consequence of wearing hair extensions or over processing.
20-year old Ariana Grande says that her role as Cat took a toll on her natural hair, explaining via Instagram, “”I had to bleach my hair and dye it red every other week for the first 4 years of playing Cat . . . as one would assume, that completely destroyed my hair. I now wear a wig on Sam & Cat. My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions, but I wear it in a pony tail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down.”
Other stars that have experience visible hair loss, such as bald patches, include reality star Kim Kardashian—although her hair loss may have resolved as pregnancy hormones could have been to blame—as well as pop stars like Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez and supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Many stars use hair extensions to boost their own locks, but tight weaves can actually damage natural hair by putting excessive pressure on the roots and causing it to fall out. Not wearing a weave may cause the issue to resolve, but may take time. In some cases, doctors have said that using Latisse, the eyelash growth treatment, off-label to remedy bald patches and small areas of hair loss, may help.
In the meantime, it looks like Jennifer Aniston has turned to hats as a cover for her possibly lackluster hair.none
