Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke is continuing on his renewed career spree in the upcoming film Immortals. Unlike his past few roles, Mickey is looking a little less plastic and a little softer than he has since undergoing drastic plastic surgery.
In the past, 59-year old Mickey Rourke has had several procedures requiring lengthy plastic surgery recovery time, including at least one overly tight facelift, possible chin, cheek and lower lip implants and possible multiple nose jobs, in part to correct damage from his boxing past (See Make Me Heal’s story on Mickey Rourke’s bad plastic surgery).
Recent appearances for promoting Immortals have shown Mickey looking a little less scary and harsh and a little softer. Mickey’s modified new look could be the result of a finding a plastic surgeon with a better touch and a better use of fillers like Sculptra and Restylane or just aging naturally.
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Mickey Rourke is looking a bit better these days as his skin in relaxing and his face is showing some natural looking contours. I hope that he is staying away from any cosmetic procedures or treatments at this time. It is very difficult to correct over-done plastic surgery. He needs to allow time to mend the results and that looks like what he is doing.”
If Mickey is shying away from plastic surgery, it is most likely for the best, as it will allow the great actor to play a wider variety of roles and not just scary types like King Hyperion in Immortals.
