This is a big year for singer Robbie Williams. He recently topped the charts with Swings Both Ways and he will be turning 40 next month. It seems that aging has taken a toll on Robbie as there have been reports that he is planning some drastic plastic surgery in the near future.
Robbie Williams recently revealed that he had a hair transplant, as a result of living in Los Angeles and becoming insecure about his looks.
In an interview with Graham Norton, Robbie opened up his recent plastic surgery, telling the host:
“I’ve lived in LA for a long time and they say, ‘If you sit in a barber’s shop for long enough you’ll get a hair cut’.
“Well, if you live in Los Angeles for long enough you’re going to get some surgery.
“I’ve had a thatch done, I’ll tell everyone now. I didn’t even need it, that’s the weirdest thing. I had like three months off and got bored so thought, I’ll go in.”
Apparently an unnecessary hair transplant wasn’t enough to make Robbie feel better about himself, as he is reportedly planning more trips under the knife, at least according to The Daily Star via EntertainmentWise.
“I am going to have everything done. I am going to have a facelift, the chin can go, liposuction. The mid-life crises theory has been creeping up on me for some time,” Robbie said according to the Daily Star.
Apparently, Robbie is afraid of losing his youthful good looks and figures that by having plastic surgery now, he’ll ward of looking older in another 10 years. Robbie is well known for his arrogance and high opinion of himself, so he likely considers plastic surgery a good investment in his brand.
Robbie recently had a daughter, Theodora “Teddy” and it seems that becoming a dad has helped to change his outlook on life, including living a healthier lifestyle.
“With arrival of Teddy my daughter, there is a different perspective on the world. I don’t smoke three packs of cigarettes any more, I got to bed earlier. There’s been physical things and mental stuff,” Robbie said.
In addition to smoking cigarettes, Robbie has also been a heavy drug user in the past, using cocaine and other drugs that put him on the brink. Smoking and drug use can take a toll on the appearance, aging one faster than usual. Perhaps Robbie feels that drugs have made him appear older and he hopes to undo the damage.
While plastic surgery can serve to help prevent the appearance of drastic aging, undergoing numerous procedures at once can turn someone unrecognizable. Unless Robbie is having premature signs of aging like jowls and sagging skin, he is on the young side to be undergoing a facelift. If pulled too tightly, a male facelift can sometimes create a more feminine appearance, as in the case of Bruce Jenner. A little liposuction around the chin may be a good idea as it can help enhance the jawline by getting rid of excess fat.
