The name Jenny Lee may sound familiar, but you probably can’t place the face. Like Joceyln Wildenstein and Alicia Douvall, Jenny Lee is pretty much only famous for her numerous plastic surgery procedures, which means that her face is constantly being tweaked.
Jenny Lee first rose to fame after making an appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show in 2004. At that time, Oprah dubbed Jenny the “Texas Barbie” and the moniker seems to have stuck. To get her more perfect than real life appearance, Jenny had already undergone over 25 procedures, but she was already planning more.
Oprah is notoriously good at getting people to open up to her about their inner turmoil and Jenny admitted that she always struggled with low self-esteem and continued to do so.
“When I look at my reflection, I still don’t like what I see,” Lee told Oprah. “I’m trying to grow to accept what I see… If I could be just OK with it — just OK — I would be very happy.”
Lee also opened up about how her plastic surgery obsession had been affecting her daughter Kaleigh, who was 10 years old at the time. “Her whole life, I’ve been having the plastic surgery, so she doesn’t even know what I look like as a natural person,” Lee said. “When my daughter sees pictures of me before I had any surgery, she doesn’t recognize that that’s me. We don’t even look alike.”
Recently, Oprah caught up with Jenny on her special “Oprah: Where are They Now?” to find out what the mother and plastic surgery addict has been up to since they last spoke.
Apparently, initially after her Oprah special aired, Jenny held off on plastic surgery for a while. However, that didn’t last long as since the original interview Jenny has had 33 more plastic surgery procedures, including a circumferential body lift—all before turning 30. This brings her total number of plastic surgeries to 59.
Jenny’s plastic surgery plans were once again put on hiatus in late 2007 when she gave birth to her second daughter, but she resumed going under the knife soon after.
For Jenny, a pivotal plastic surgery moment came in 2008, after her fourth nose job (also known as rhinoplasty).
“Now, I look at my nose and go, ‘It’s perfect!’” says Jenny.
Jenny also had a “body lift revision” in 2010, but things have begun to go downhill for the plastic surgery aficionado since then. She has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a painful syndrome that causes weight gain as a side effect.
“They had told me that weight gain was… a side effect of having [fibromyalgia],” Lee says. “I had to really come to terms with the fact that, for once in my life, I’m not in control of my body.”
Obsessed as she is with a perfect body and perfect weight, Jenny says that her self-esteem has once again taken a downturn, especially when looking at pictures of herself in the past.
“I look at some pictures and go, ‘Whoa, I was really thin in some of those pictures.’ I was the healthiest and the happiest at that time,’” she says. “I miss those days.”
As for passing on her affinity for the knife to her daughters, Jenny says that she encourages elder daughter Kaleigh to do nothing and Kaleigh says that she has no plans to go under the knife any time soon.
