Jane Seymour looks as lovely as ever, but according to her, Botox isn’t the reason.
59-year old Jane Seymour revealed that she has breast implants and that she has considered plastic surgery for when she begins to look her age (See Makemeheal.com’s story on Jane Seymour’s breast implants). But she still has strong feelings about Botox, saying that they take away the expressions of actors.
Jane is quoted as saying, “If you are a dramatic actress or even comedic, you need all those frown lines. When I see people on television and nothing is moving and their eyebrows are up near the corner of their head I think, ‘They’re destroying their expression.’”
Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., said, “Botox has the potential change facial expression. However, when Botox injections are performed properly by a highly skilled facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, the likelihood of the injections making the face appear expressionless and artificial is minimized.”
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Botox can create a smooth appearance to the face and if desired it can also give a slight lift to the eyebrows. From that, there is a reduction in the ability to move the forehead muscles initially, but if administered properly as far as placement and amount, the patient’s ability to portray facial expressions as they always have should not change. Facial expressions are created by the face as a whole, not just the forehead.”
Jane may want to consider trying Botox in between gigs to see if it really is as bad as she says.
