  • Without much time in front of the camera since her Dirty Dancing days, Jennifer Grey hasn’t had the same anti-aging plastic surgery as some of her peers, but she did admit to considering Botox before hitting the dance floor.

50-year old Jennifer Grey became a poster child for plastic surgery when she underwent a couple of nose jobs in the 1990s that made her nearly unrecognizable and killed her career (See Make Me Heal’s story on Jennifer Grey’s plastic surgery).

Although rhinoplasty is often blamed for Jennifer’s absence from acting over the past two decades, she recently admitted that she considered getting Botox injections for her return.

“Before the show, I thought, Oh, I should get some Botox, get rid of the wrinkles under my eyes,” the Dancing With the Stars frontrunner tells Us Weekly. “When you put a lot of makeup, the lines become very apparent.”

Ultimately, Jennifer says she decided against Botox after talking with her husband of nine years, actor Clark Gregg, told her “not to touch anything, to be who I am, because I look great.”

“Aging is inevitable and the idea that we can be eternally youthful is the pitfall of our society,” says Grey, mother to daughter, Stella, 8. “When my body and face were perfect as far as youth, I wasn’t happy. If you try to hold on to something you don’t have anymore, you can’t be happy in the moment.”

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “ Jennifer Grey had more than a Rhinoplasty to create her very dramatically different look.  She may have had a browlift in addition to her nose job.  It is possible through a browlift to permanently paralyze the muscle that causes forehead wrinkles.  The same wrinkles that Botox is used to correct.  So she may be saying no to Botox because she doesn’t need it after her cosmetic surgery(s).   Her forehead is very smooth so she must have done some type of procedure or treatment to create that look.”

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., says, “Jennifer Grey’s decision to refrain from having Botox injections is strictly a personal decision.  Botox is favored by many as a non-surgical option to create a more youthful appearance. It is not necessarily used to “hang on to lost youth,” but to enhance one’s current looks.”

Makemeheal.com thinks Jennifer’s outlook is very Zen and should serve her well during the competition.
