  • Jodie Marsh has transformed from glamour model to fitness model, but one thing that won’t be changing is her breast implants, thanks to her “exploding” breast implants.

33-year old Jodie Marsh recently revealed her new body as a fitness model, which emphasizes her oversized breast implants (See Make Me Heal’s story on Jodie Marsh’s plastic surgery). While Jodie wants to downsize her implants, she is afraid due to the trauma she suffered after breast augmentation the first time.

According to The Sun, Jodie says, “When I woke up, they were so swollen. The first dressing was taken off after a week or so – that’s when I saw that I wasn’t healing. As the stitches started popping out of my skin, there was no skin to hold the incision together. My boobs looked like they were exploding. It was so painful. There was green pus coming out of my boobs and they constantly bled.”

“I had to change the dressings every day and was in such discomfort I couldn’t work – I basically sat at home depressed for a year. I wish I’d never had them done. People should realize that every boob job has the potential to become a horror story.”

Jodie’s experience with breast augmentation does sound tragic, but also very rare.

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “I do not know of any scientifically confirmed cases of breast implants just exploding.  Breast implants are extremely safe; however, like any surgery can have complications.  Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the US.  It is not common to have to replace breast implants, but if it is necessary it is usually due to the need to change the size or placement of the implants.  Any time there are revisionary surgeries the complication rate does increase slightly.  Jodie Marsh originally had very large implants and now because she is going smaller she will need additional reconstruction work performed in order to achieve a good result.”

Makemeheal.com wishes Jodie the best in her new career.
