Actress Juliette Lewis is known for having unusual looks that have made her one of Hollywood’s most popular actresses. But now the 35-year old has spoken out against the vanity of women, particularly her stance against plastic surgery.
Juliette feels that the main intention of women who undergo plastic surgery is to please men. She says that women should focus more on their positive attributes and less on their appearance.
According to Juliette, “I want girls to start thinking about what they have to say, what do they have to contribute to their families, to other people, to society?”
“It’s fine if you want to be desirable to your man, that’s sweet. But when people are carving their skin and putting plastic or whatever into their chest, to be more desirable, against this facade of, ‘Oh no, it’s for me. It makes me feel good.’ Well, really?”
Juliette still looks good at an age when many in Hollywood are beginning to dabble in plastic surgery to ward off the first signs of aging, including Botox injections.
Juliette, a self-described “man-loving feminist,” says that women should be strong and self-assured.
While Make Me Heal applauds Juliette’s inner strength, we think she may reconsider her plastic surgery stance in the future if she wants to continue in the superficial world of Hollywood.
