  • Comedienne Kathy Griffin is one of the more popular funny women to brag about getting plastic surgery on everything from her face down. But now the loud-voiced redhead says she is done with plastic surgery.

50-year old Kathy Griffin revitalized her shape and her career by getting plastic surgery, but a few years ago she said she was done with going under the knife.

“I’ve been off the junk, as I call it, for five years,” and she vows to stay off, she said in an interview for Fitness magazine, Usmagazine.com says.

“I’ve had a face lift, eye job and all that stuff five years ago. What I found, though, was that it didn’t help me one bit. It didn’t get me happier or didn’t make me look particularly younger.”

“I spent 20 years of my life obsessing about 10, 15 pounds, and what I found as a comedian … is that nobody expected me to come out in a bikini anyway. I’ve never lost a job because of my weight, and I’ve certainly never gotten a job because of my cosmetic surgery or my weight. “I’ll say to my younger friends: ‘C’mon, I have a hot body, right?’ I mean, not a hot body Hollywood-style… but it’s hot for 47. So that’s my new thing — I like my body now. For 47, it’s pretty darn good. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’m never going to be Jennifer Aniston.”

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Liposuction, and plastic surgery in general, is an excellent catalyst for people to get motivated and dedicated to improving their life. Whether it is sticking to a diet, exercising more or just living a healthier lifestyle, many patients after having enhanced their appearance through plastic surgery are inspired to enhance the other parts of themselves and their life as well.”

If Kathy does change her mind again (as she frequently does where plastic surgery is concerned), she may want to try a blepharoplasty or a little Botox around the eyes to get rid of her deep crow’s feet. The plastic surgery recovery time would be minimal enough to make the procedures worth it.

Dr. David Shafer, celebrity plastic surgeon in New York City says, ” I think Kathy Griffin would be helped considerably by some Botox Cosmetic and a lower lid blepharoplasty to smooth the skin around her eyes.”

Kathy’s plastic surgery got her on the D-list and gave her plenty of fodder for her comedy routines, so time will tell whether or not she finds herself back on the table.
