Former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland recently opened up about her views on plastic surgery on Botox, and the results are surprising.
29-year old Kelly Rowland isn’t afraid of the knife, openly admitting to getting a breast augmentation in 2007 to help give her some curves (See Make Me Heal’s story on Kelly Rowland’s breast implants).
Makemeheal.com also suspects that there may be a nose job in Kelly’s past as well, helping to narrow her nose and give it a cute button tip.
So it was with some surprise that we read an interview with Kelly in Closer magazine in which the R&B singer revealed that she didn’t believe in Botox.
“I’d never have Botox,” she said. “No way.”
“I don’t want needles stuck in my face, that’s going to hurt. And I like to have expressions!”
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and Kelly may be afraid of looking overdone, but done correctly, Botox shouldn’t give you that frozen look she fears.
Board certified Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says,”Strange that one would hate Botox, but to each their own. Botox when injected conservatively can smooth the skin while maintaining normal animation.”
Miami Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “ Botox is FDA approved and safe as long as administered correctly. The enhancement that it gives a patient without undergoing actual cosmetic surgery is magnificent. Both Breast Augmentation and Botox treatments involve delivering a foreign agent into the patient, except that breast implants are permanent and botox dissolves over time. I don’t know Kelly Rowland’s reasoning, but I don’t have any patients that share that view.”
As Kelly grows older and develops wrinkles, she may reconsider her position.
