Cheers star Kirstie Alley isn’t quiet about her opinions. Now appearing on her reality show, Kirstie Alley’s Big Life, Kirstie says she hasn’t had plastic surgery and is proud of it.
59-year old Kirstie used to be one of the hottest actresses around, but after gaining copious amounts of weight, she hasn’t been seen on the big screen in quite a while.
Not getting much screen time hasn’t made Kirstie turn to plastic surgery to look younger. The self-proclaimed “fat actress” hasn’t had plastic surgery in the past and doesn’t plan to have any in the future.
Kirstie is reported to have said, “I’m not a surgery girl, I haven’t had plastic surgery. I don’t wanna have it but it’s hard when you see your peers and things and they have. I go back and forth and think, ‘Who’s gonna play grandmothers in movies?’ You gotta be 100 to be a grandmother in a movie! So maybe it just gives our group (actresses without surgery) more longevity to be filming.”
Kirstie’s weight fluctuations have likely left her with a lot of loose skin, and age has likely taken a toll as well, which could be aided by plastic surgery.
Miami Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Plastic surgery is an individual decision. People who choose to have cosmetic surgery want to look their best. Another way people try to look and feel their best is by staying fit, in shape and maintain a desirable weight. With all of Kristie’s weight fluctuations I imagine her skin has become very loose, stretched out and damaged. The only way to repair that is with cosmetic surgery.”
Maybe when Kirstie sees herself onscreen this time around she will decide to lose weight once and for all, making her able to play hot grandmas, rather than fat actresses.
