Kristin Chenoweth has been on Makemeheal.com’s Botox user radar for a while and now the tiny actress with a big voice has opened up about her use.
Back in 2009, it was reported that 42-year old Kristin Chenoweth suffered from migraines(See Make Me Heal’s story on Plastic Surgery at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards). After noting Kristin’s smooth forehead, Makemeheal.com began to suspect that the Broadway star was using Botox both as a cosmetic enhancement and as a treatment for migraines. Now it turns out that we were right, as Kristin has announced her Botox use.
Chenoweth explains, “The thing is I suffer from migraines. Flashing lights. It’s not good for me, so I get three (Botox) shots right there (on my forehead). I was very nervous about it because I’m an actor and I have to move my face. But, without it, I would not be able to sing or perform.”
Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, California says, “Botox for migraines does not help with wrinkles, unless an injection happened to be located in the forehead. To help with wrinkles, Botox needs to be injected around the problem area where wrinkles are present. A plastic surgeon may perform the injections, which would be in multiple areas around the head and neck.”
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Botox was made famous because of its amazing wrinkle reducing abilities on the forehead and face, but it is also an effective treatment for those who suffer from migraines. Botox used to treat migraines is the same Botox that is used to treat wrinkles, but they are labeled differently – Botox Cosmetic for wrinkles and Botox Therapeutic for migraines. They are administered by different medical doctors-usually a plastic surgeon administers Botox Cosmetic and a neurologist administers Botox Therapeutic. For migraines, Botox is usually injected in areas of the head and neck and Botox to treat wrinkles is typically injected in the forehead, in between the eyebrows and around the eyes.”
Makemeheal.com congratulates Kristin on finding a treatment that works for her migraines.
