Actress Lara Flynn Boyle once charmed fans as Donna Hayward in Twin Peaks and Assistant District Attorney Helen Gamble in The Practice. But now the woman that once sported one of the most talked about red carpet outfits ever is hardly recognizable from her former beautiful self, thanks to an overload of plastic surgery.
44-year old Lara Flynn Boyle spent a recent afternoon with her mother and is very different looking than her former self. Puffy and full faced from the neck up, her visage appears bloated and floating above her seemingly dangerously thin frame.
Lara has never actually confirmed whether or not she has spent time in a plastic surgeon’s chair, but the results speak for themselves. The Daily Mail has a theory that Lara’s plastic surgery results can be traced to her romantic relationships. Lara first looked to have undergone a lip augmentation back in the early 2000s when she was attached to the much older Jack Nicholson, when she may have used collagen and possibly Botox injections as well. In 2006, Lara married real estate agent Donald Ray Thomas II and looked as though she had undergone several more procedures for the occasion including a nose job, facelift and browlift in addition to a permanent lip augmentation using implants or collagen as well as Botox injections to smooth her skin.
For years now, Lara has had a puffy round face where she once had an angular jawline and defined cheekbones. It is possible that Lara has laid off getting fillers placed in her cheeks, which has made her face look somewhat droopy in their absence.
Although Lara has never admitted to having plastic surgery, a long time ago Lara did admit to being afraid of the aging process despite being in her early 30s at the time.
“I know I may be running out of time,’ the Twin Peaks star said. ‘There are just not that many roles for older women. On a vanity level, I am not looking forward to ageing at all – I think I look pretty good now.”
Lara did look good at the time but began overloading on plastic surgery shortly after—possibly in a bid to retain her good looks and put off her fear of aging.
Lara’s resurfacing in public comes just as unseen footage from Twin Peaks has been released on DVD. 90 minutes of outtakes and deleted scenes from 1992’s “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” have been put together to create an almost feature length film. The footage premiered at a Los Angeles area theater with creator David Lynch showing up and introducing the footage as well as many of the show’s castmembers—Lara Flynn Boyle not amongst them–Catherine Coulson, Ray Wise (Leland Palmer), Grace Zabriskie (Sarah Palmer) and Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer), other cast attending included Miguel Ferrer (Albert), Peggy Lipton (Norma), Madchen Amick (Shelly Johnson), James Marshall (James Hurley), Victor Rivers (Buck), Kimmy Robertson (Lucy Moran) and Lenny von Dohlen (Harold Smith).
