  • Lea Michele appeared on Chelsea Handler’s soon to end late night talk show, Chelsea Lately, dishing on her childhood and her decision not to go under the knife, despite being pressured to have a nose job from an early age.

27-year old Lea Michele has a prominent nose for a pretty girl in Hollywood and it turns out, that she is proud of it.

In an interview segment on Chelsea Lately, Lea revealed that when she met a Hollywood manager at the tender age of 13, this person told her “‘As soon as you turn 15, it’s time for a nose job.’”

“Obviously, I didn’t get it done,” Lea said. “Wherever she is, she can go f— herself.”

Chelsea looks to be shocked by the thought of a youngster going under the knife and quipped in her typical fashion, “If you’re a kid, you shouldn’t want to get plastic surgery. You don’t even know how your face is going to turn out!”

This isn’t the first time that Lea has bragged about her decision not to go under the knife. In an interview with a fashion magazine a couple years back, Lea tells Harper’s Bazaar, “How many managers told me, ‘Get a nose job. You’re not pretty enough’? But I proved them wrong.”

Lea may be proud of her decision to find fame without making her nose better fit her face. However many women who do opt for a nose job are just as happy with their decision.

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Patients after plastic surgery, and Rhinoplasty in particular, are often thrilled with their decision to undergo their cosmetic procedure.  Most patients express that they wish they had done it sooner.  A Rhinoplasty involves such a small area to be altered; however, the results can change a person’s entire look.”

In fact, actress Lisa Kudrow revealed that she found having a nose job as a teenager to be nothing short of life changing.

50-year old Lisa Kudrow recently opened up to The Saturday Evening Post about her life-changing rhinoplasty, which she says transformed her from “hideous to not hideous.”

Lisa explains that after a few rough years in junior high school, she was able to switch high schools without people knowing about her transformation. She calls it a ” good, good, good change.”

In the end, Lisa’s nose job clearly changed her life view as well as her career for the better.

And while a surgical nose job may not be for everyone, some women have found other solutions to making their nose better fit in their face without appearing to be too prominent.

Brandi Glanville uses filler to help correct minor imperfections in the nose to get a more symmetrical appearance or help minimize the appearance of a slight bump. Unlike a traditional, surgical nose job, the results are temporary and the fillers must be replaced periodically.

And Nicki Minaj uses makeup to help her look different, although lately she is going for a more natural and less doll-like appearance.
