Not everybody thinks that Botox is a good thing. And although supermodels are known for using the latest anti-aging products, not all are convinced that injectables are the best way to stay perpetually youthful, as an interview with Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington revealed.
In an past issue of style magazine Vogue, then 41-year-old Linda Evangelista (who was pregnant at the time) admitted to using cosmetic surgery treatments such as Botox, while 37-year old Christy Turlington insists she’ll never try Botox.
Linda says, She says, “I’m pro-cosmetic procedure. I use Botox and I’m not afraid to say it, though I do like to keep some movement in my face.”
“I do Thermage, a treatment to stimulate your collagen… For me, it’s just for enhancement, like hair colour or make-up or any other tricks you can do to make yourself feel better.”
At the time of the interview, Linda was not using Botox during her pregnancy.
On the other hand Christy says she is not afraid of naturally aging and will never try Botox.
“I’m not afraid of aging. I would absolutely not do Botox. It actually makes me feel happier about my face when I look at people my age… who’ve had it done.”
Dr. David Shafer, celebrity plastic surgeon in New York City says, ”Botox, when injected correctly, can maintain or improve facial harmony. When Botox is injected by inexperienced people or for the wrong reason, face balance is disrupted and the results look unnatural.”
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Everything in moderation is the key. I believe that Botox is a fantastic treatment to enhance the face and make a person look and feel more youthful. Just don’t overdo it like anything.”
Different opinions on Botox aside, the supermodels are old friends who likely willingly offer each other a hand, whether plastic surgery recovery is in the mix or not.
