Lindsay Lohan seems to be back to work, but what’s not working for her are her hair extensions. A photo of Lindsay reveals that her hair may actually be falling out as a result of her heavy hair extensions. Luckily, there may be something she can do about, thanks to plastic surgery hair replacement.
26-year old Lindsay Lohan is definitely a troubled young woman, but she may be getting back on track after filming a movie for television and reportedly beginning work on another. In the meantime, she looks to be losing her hair as a result of wearing hair extensions. Maybe between gigs she could take time off from reckless driving for hair transplant recovery, if her hair doesn’t grow back on it’s own.
Dr. Jonathan Hall is one of the top plastic surgeons in Boston, who is know for his natural appearing results. Dr. Hall, who has not treated Lindsay Lohan says, “’Traumatic Alopecia’ is the medical term for hair loss such as this. She would probably wait for a little while as the hair cycles from its rest phase (telogen) back to the growth phase (anagen). Typically about 85% of our hair is in the growth phase at any one time, and then falls out over 1-2 weeks (catagen phase). After a rest phase of 5-6 weeks it tends to regrow. So if it doesn’t regrow after a reasonable period of time, then micrografts of hair could be considered. Larger areas of scarring, such as from burns, can be treated with tissue expansion, the placement of fluid filled ‘balloons’ under the area of scalp that still has hair to stretch it enough to cover the bald areas.”
Hopefully, just removing the extensions would be enough to regrow her hair, without having to consider a hair transplant. However, it wouldn’t be Lindsay’s first visit to a plastic surgeon as she has used fillers, like Juvederm, in the past to plump her lips (See Make Me Heal’s story on Lindsay Lohan’s lip augmentation).
