American television personality, comedian, game show host, producer, and talk show host Marc Summers was recently in a car accident, leaving him fine, but with a need for reconstructive plastic surgery.
60-year old Marc Summers was riding in a cab in Philadelphia after returning from shooting an episode of Restaurant Impossible when the cab lost control in extreme rain conditions and Marc hit the partition that separates the driver from the passenger.
Everything on the left side [of my face] from my eye socket down was just wiped out,” Marc tells PEOPLE. “My eye socket got all swollen. I’m having trouble seeing completely out of the left eye … There’s lots of titanium and screws in my face.”
“I was pretty lucky that I didn’t have brain damage,” Marc adds.
Marc has had several hours of reconstructive plastic surgery and will spend a lot of time in plastic surgery recovery as well.
“Everything went back into place,” the host says. “In a few weeks, the swelling will go down and no one will ever know … I’ll be a new guy.”
Makemeheal.com wishes Marc the best and a speedy recovery.
