  • Lately it seems that the new trend in plastic surgery is to look like a celebrity. While most results look to be a loose inspiration at best, Miranda Kerr’s plastic surgery look alike came very close to looking just like the real thing.

A South Korean model, Hong Yuh Reum was on a Japanese television show showcasing the dangers of plastic surgery. However, the model revealed that her plastic surgery inspiration was Miranda Kerr and seemed very pleased with the results of her plastic surgery makeover as it has helped boost her career.

On the show, she said of Kerr, “It really struck me when I first saw her in a magazine. She has a baby face but she’s very sexy. I knew I wanted to be like her!”

Part of the reason that Hong’s surgery may have been so successful is that she only drew inspiration from the Australian beauty, undergoing fewer plastic surgery procedures than others who decide they want to be celebrity doppelgangers.

She tells the Daily Mail, “I didn’t do my forehead. I only did my eyes and nose. Besides that, I haven’t touched anything. I didn’t put anything in my cheeks and it’s all fat.”

Apparently, even before the plastic surgery many people believed that Hong had gone under the knife.

She reports, “In fact, people often asked if I had surgery even before I got it.”

Although her family tried to talk her out of going under the knife, Hong was confident in what she wanted and decided to go for it.

“I wanted to look like Miranda Kerr so I decided and went ahead with surgery.”

To further showcase her resemblance to the real deal Miranda, Hong also wears blue contact lens and dyes her hair a lighter shade of brown than her own natural hair, closer to the supermodel’s. She also follows Miranda’s sense of style when it comes to clothing choices and also does her makeup in a similar way.

Miranda may not know Hong, but she is popular in Korea. On a trip to Seoul, Miranda performed in a skit on SNL Korea and is said to be a beauty role model for many young Korean women because of her “perfect combination of cute and sexy,” according to the KoreAm journal.

Although the real Miranda Kerr has never admitted it, earlier this year she was at the center of rumors that she had undergone some plastic surgery of her own. After splitting from hubby Orlando Bloom, it looks like Miranda may have had a plastic surgery makeover involving breast implants. Many media sites reported that Miranda looked more voluptuous than usual after her breakup and changing one’s look is common when a relationship comes to an end.

Wanting to look like a celebrity seems to be an international trend. A 30-year old woman from Texas dropped $25,000 in an effort to look more like Jennifer Lawrence and says she is happy with the results and that the money was well spent.
