  • Country star Miranda Lambert has slimmed down just in time for awards season. Wearing body-skimming sparkles and necklines cut down to there, Miranda is cutting a much more svelte figure than she has in recent years. According to Miranda, her new frame is the result of good old-fashioned diet and exercise and not plastic surgery procedures.

30-year old Miranda Lambert, wife of another country superstar, Blake Shelton first gave fans a glimpse of her slimmer self at the BMI Country Awards, following up her look the next night at the Country Music Awards. From one look to another, tabloids went wild with speculation about how Miranda had dropped the pounds, including talk of weight loss plastic surgery.

According to UsWeekly, to dispute the claims of plastic surgery, Miranda took to her personal blog, writing, “Though I NEVER care what the tabloids have to say about me… I wanted to address this certain story they are running this week and set the record straight. I DID NOT have surgery to lose weight,” she said up front.

The fiery singer added, “That is ridiculous. I lost my weight the healthy and good old fashioned way. Watching what I eat and working out with my trainer Bill Crutchfield.”
In the post, Miranda added that although she didn’t keep track of how many pounds she lost, by the time she turned 30, she was happy with her new look.

“Like I have always said, it’s not about a scale, it’s about how you feel and how your jeans fit. And on November 10th when I turned 30, my skinny jeans were finally baggy! Mission accomplished!”

She concluded the post with, “So for anyone who is tempted to read the ‘Trash Talk’ please don’t. I am proud to be a normal size girl and I want to encourage everyone to be confident at any size. Thanks for the support y’all!”

Miranda isn’t the first celebrity to feel the need to speak out against tabloid speculation as to the cause of her weight loss.

New mom Kim Kardashian recently experienced the same thing when tabloids assumed she had been under the knife in order to drop the 50 pounds she has reportedly lost since giving birth.

Kim got defense when Internet gossip pointed to a family history of plastic surgery, and Kim used her popular Twitter feed to deny reports of plastic surgery, saying that she dropped the pounds with a concerted effort of eating according to The Atkins Diet and plenty of exercise.

Both Miranda and Kim have very supportive life partners. After Kim debuted her weight loss with a selfie in a skimpy bathing suit, her fiancé Kanye West Tweeted his approval. And when Miranda showcased her slimmer body in a bright blue Robert Cavalli gown on the red carpet, husband Blake took time to Tweet, “My wife is so hot it’s ridiculous.”

As both Miranda and Kim are young and not obese, weight loss surgery seems improbable at this time in their lives. However, they probably benefit from the support of slimming shapewear.
