Julia Restoin Roitfeld, a Lancome model, has decried plastic surgery, proclaiming wrinkles to be beautiful.
30-year old model, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, daughter of former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld has spoken out against plastic surgery, despite her firm roots in the beauty and fashion industry.
The Frisky quotes Julia as telling Glamour, “Wrinkles can be beautiful. They’re part of who you are, your charm and your history. And I’m not for plastic surgery — I’d feel like I was cheating on myself.”
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “I’ve yet to meet a skin care expert that does not believe in and/or use Botox, a cosmetic wrinkle reducing treatment. Those who are in a beauty related occupation or field often agree with plastic surgery and see it as a valuable tool in creating and maintaining a beautiful look.”
Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, California says, “Plastic surgery is an individual preference. Whether or not a skincare expert agrees or disagrees with plastic surgery is their personal opinion.”
Lancome products certainly seem to be working for Julia so far, but she may change her stance on plastic surgery as she ages and the wrinkles become a little deeper.
