The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne isn’t exactly the typical plastic surgery celebrity. Yet the metal legend has confessed to having a nose job, giving him something in common with his wife Sharon.

61-year old Ozzy Osbourne, born John Michael Osbourne is famous for his crazy rock n roll antics, from biting the head off a bat to urinating on the Alamo. Oddly enough, he isn’t famous for undergoing plastic surgery, something he has only recently admitted.

Longtime fans of Ozzy have noticed that as his popularity has grown, his nose has shrunk. While Ozzy once had a very wide nose as a youngster, sometime in the last 30 years, he underwent a rhinoplasty, which narrowed his nose and gave him a more defined tip.

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Ozzy’s nose does appear to have a more defined tip and narrower bridge which would be the result of a Nose job or Rhinoplasty.  It is a little pinched at the tip which could only have been created through a Rhinoplasty procedure.”

Dr. Paul A. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, California says, “Ozzy Osbourne does not appear to have had any surgery performed to his nose, as the look of his nose appears natural.”

Board certified Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says,”Ozzy Osbourne does not look like he has had a nose job or anything else.  He might want to consider a little Botox Cosmetic, but really should leave well enough alone.”

More recently, Ozzy has also admitted to having a facelift.

“I’ve had a face job and a rhinoplasty. It boosted my confidence no end.”

Some think that Ozzy may still be leaving out a few procedures, like Botox and fillers like Juvederm and Restylane, or even cheek implants, as his face looks fuller than before and less gaunt.

Given his wife Sharon’s love of plastic surgery, including having her stomach stapled, a face lift, a tummy tuck and a boob job and more, which all totaled over $120,000, Ozzy still has a way to go before he catches up (See Make Me Heal’s story on Sharon Osbourne’s plastic surgery).

Hopefully Ozzy’s confidence boost will translate into his music.

Cosmetic surgery isn’t as new perhaps you might imagine. Rhinoplasty have been performed since 800 BCE in ancient Egypt. In India Sushruta described a nasal reconstruction using a flap of skin with the forehead. In the sixteenth century, brachial based flaps were put to use to reconstruct noses. The 1st publlished account of modern rhinoplasty have been traced to John Orlando Roe.is original article was published in 1887 and described the correction of an “pug nose.” Nope, not doggy we all know as being a pug, but a person by having a similar nose. Jacques Joseph is generally known as the father of modern rhinoplasty. He would be a trained rthopedic surgeon also in 1898 did presentations in Berlin of revolutionary rhinoplastic techniques, many of that are nearly as good as those used today.
