Princess Eugenie caught the world’s attention when she attended her cousin, Prince William’s wedding in an outfit that was more costume than couture. Now the Princess is speaking out about
21-year old Princess Eugenie has recently opened up about the 8 hours of intense surgery at age 12 she underwent to repair a severe curvature of the spine.
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “Scoliosis is a medical condition that causes the spine to curve sideways and could cause great discomfort, disfigurement and complications with movement. This is a medically necessary surgery for those who suffer with this condition and is in no way considered cosmetic. She may have a more attractive back after the surgery, but that is because her spine will be repaired to its correct position.”
“It hurts “[I've got] good memories coming back even though I’m slightly scared of hospitals,” she told the Telegraph, noting how grateful she was for the procedure.
“I wouldn’t look the way I do,” she added. “My back would be hunched over. I wouldn’t be able to talk the way I do about it and help other children who come to me with the same problem.”
While at Prince William’s wedding, Makemeheal.com thought that we spotted signs that Princess Eugenie may also have had a nose job when she was younger (See Make Me Heal’s story on Princess Eugenie’s plastic surgery).
Princess Eugenie may have questionable taste in fashion, but she appears to sincerely care about her fellow scoliosis sufferers.
