Sharon Stone has admitted to having a few run-ins with plastic surgery in the past. But overall the stunning 55-year old star of Basic Instinct says she is against it. Furthermore, she says that the doctors that try to convince her to go under the knife for procedures such as facelifts are actually doing more harm than good.
Back in 2010, Sharon admitted to trying lip augmentation, but didn’t like the results that left her looking like “a trout.” Although she hasn’t had a facelift doesn’t mean that she hasn’t tried other methods for keeping her skin smooth and youthful. Not all stars consider treatments like Botox and chemical peels to be surgery, so Sharon may be leaving her real secrets of the fountain of youth conveniently out of her interviews.
If she isn’t already at the plastic surgeon’s office seeking treatments, it is unclear why Sharon feels herself to be so inundated with plastic surgeon’s advising her to undergo a facelift.
She tells Shape magazine, “I can’t tell you how many plastic surgeons have tried to sell me a face-lift. That’s not ethical, because the Hippocratic oath is to do no harm, and elective surgery can be harmful, and that’s not cool.”
However, just because she doesn’t enjoy having plastic surgeons act like pushy sales people doesn’t mean that Sharon is entirely against plastic surgery. She goes on to reveal her own experience with plastic surgery, which she feels to have been necessary.
“If it’s needed and appropriate, then yes, do it.
“For example, I was in a horseback-riding accident when I was 20 and I ended up with a ragtag scar on my neck, so I had it fixed.
“I just don’t think you should run out and get crazy triple-D boobs or cut up your face when you’re in your 20s.
“Everyone’s starting to look alike. We’ve got 400,000 girls with beachy blonde hair, the same nose, gigantic lips, implants in their cheeks, and little Chicklets for teeth. Are they really prettier?”
Sharon’s comments reflect another interview she gave to New You, “People are afraid of changing; that they’re losing something. They don’t understand that they are also gaining something. I thought I lost the deep vortex on my eyelid that you have when you’re younger, but I gained almost a kind of beautiful abyss. As I lost the fullness in my face, I got in these great cheekbones.”
In the past, Sharon has pretty much denied plastic surgery, although she did let it slip that she has tried lip augmentation using a filler. Apparently the incident took place after a bad break up, when Sharon was feeling down about her looks.
“Nobody loved me. I’m 103. My life would be better if I had better lips.”
After doctors injected her lips (she doesn’t recall what the substance was), the star was horrified. “What the hell?” she said, adding that her mismatched lips made her look “like a trout.”
Although Sharon pretty much denies going under the knife, many think that she probably had a nose job early in her career and dental veneers done more recently.none
