Tyra Banks doesn’t take her looks for granted. After all, they have made her rich and famous and one of the best known faces in the world. But despite knowing the importance of looking good from birth, she says that she is all for plastic surgery.
While plastic surgery is a very controversial topic, with everyone weighing in as for or against, Tyra expressed her frustrations with people that are generally against plastic surgery.
“What’re you talking about? You won the genetic lottery. You look like this specimen that’s making people everywhere feel insecure and you’re going to ridicule someone for getting plastic surgery?”
For Tyra, while some people may have won the lottery when it comes to having natural good looks, it is unfair to think that those that are less fortunate shouldn’t try to better their appearances with plastic surgery. And for the record, Tyra counts herself amongst the lucky ones, but says that she would consider having work done if she becomes unhappy with how she ages, “Black people and Asian people have similar (strong) skin… But if one day I have wrinkles and I don’t like it… maybe… a little Botox, fillers?”
Tyra has long been a proponent of empowering women to feel good about themselves, regardless of race, age, or size. She has also admitted to being self conscious about flaws she perceived on her own body, including cellulite and also posted an Instagram of her very large forehead, which is often mocked.
Supermodels in general tend to be split on plastic surgery and their willingness to discuss whether or not they have tried the knife or needle. Although Cindy Crawford has her own line of anti-aging skincare products, she has also admitted to using Botox. Elle Macpherson has never admitted to plastic surgery, but it is suspected that she she may have had a brow lift and probably also uses Botox and laser treatments in addition to getting small breast implants and a possible breast lift. Christy Brinkley has never said anything about going under the knife, but photos reveal that while her hands have aged, her face has not, which is likely a sign of plastic surgery in the form of facelift and a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) to get rid of eye bags, a mini necklift to get rid of the appearance of sagging jowls and may also use fillers like Restylane and Juvederm to stay looking firm and plump in the cheeks department, in addition to CoolTouch, Active FX or Fraxel laser treatments.
And while Tyra counts herself amongst natural beauties, there has been a lot of speculation over the years that the serial entrepreneur has had some work done, including a nose job at a very young age. Early photos of Tyra before her modeling career show a much wider nose, while later photos show the slimmer nose that has been on magazine covers around the world. If Tyra did have a nose job, it was well done and very minor.none
